Fiber College of Maine 2012
Thursday, September 06, 2012 - Sunday, September 09, 2012

September is the most beautiful month on the coast of Maine.  Surrounded by the sea and bordered by gardens; relax, revitalize and daydream ~ We invite to you discover Fiber College of Maine where friendships are built around shared interests, long pauses and unexpected connections.

This is a completely volunteer-driven, learning festival devoted to introducing, maintaining and furthering traditional arts using all forms of fiber.  We invite talented artists to teach a wide range of fee-based classes in hopes that you will sample new vistas and share your passions.  In the evening there are gatherings for meals, exchanges and casual learning.

On September 6 - 9, 2012 we offer classes, reserved in advance or register at the gate (subject to availability), or the opportunity to simply purchase an entrance pass and spend the day soaking up the atmosphere.  Either way you'll be in the midst of beauty, learning from demonstrations, visiting the Gallery, strolling Shopper's Boulevard, interacting with fiber critters and wandering through acres of organic gardens and miles of beach.  We want you to enjoy a moment at the water's edge, soaking up the atmosphere, the passion and wonderful people who weave the texture into Fiber College.

The College is always held on the award-winning grounds of Searsport Shores Ocean Campground in mid-coast Maine the weekend after Labor Day.  Accommodations are available at the campground and in the surrounding hotels and B & B's of Searsport and Belfast.  Come when you can.   Everybody is welcome.

Located on famous Penobscot Bay in Searsport Maine...2 hours from Portland, 4 hours from Boston, 5 hours from Quebec and a world away from everyday life.
