Florida Virtual School is the nation’s first statewide public virtual middle and high school, serving more than 100,000 students who will complete more than 150,000 credits in the 09-10 school year. The program began in 1997 as a pilot project in an attempt to ascertain whether online learning, already commonplace in higher education, could be a successful educational option for middle and high school students.
The Florida Virtual School annual Professional Learning Conference is being held in Orlando, Florida. This year, FLVS will hosts more than 1500 staff members and special guests from all over Florida and from 15 other states. Our highly motivated and professional staff will participate in over 20 hours each of professional learning throughout the three days.
Our goals for the 2011 conference are as follows:
FLVS is a striving to be a true learning organization. It is our goal to provide the best possible professional learning opportunities for the most innovative educators in the world.
