The 2012 Conference is 2 months away. We are approaching 400 attendees. The Embassy Suites is full on Monday night, and rapidly approaching full on the other nights. State participants: boxes should be labeled by STATE and FUNCTION (workshop, breakfast, tabletop, silent auction etc.) and numbered if appropriate.
Presenters: boxes should be labeled as PRESENTER with workshop number and last name.

If boxes contain anything that is perishable like chocolate that could melt, wine, etc. Then boxes should be marked perishable. Please plan to have them arrive the week before the conference ~ June 11-15.

Join us in Loveland, Colorado June 19 through 22, 2012
for the 2012 National Agriculture in the Classroom Conference.

Engaging, interactive workshops will share methods for incorporating real-life agricultural applications into classroom style language arts, math, nutrition, science and social studies lessons. Resource materials from across the nation will be available along with links to useful web sites.

Rendezvous in the Rockies is hosted by Colorado Agriculture in the Classroom and the Western Region Agriculture in the Classroom. The Western Region AITC includes California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Utah, Nevada, New Mexico, Colorado, Wyoming and Montana.

Each year the national AITC conference is held to share ideas and resources. Attending is a benefit for educators of all grade levels, administrators, curriculum developers, career guidance counselors, teacher aides and substitute teachers, AITC volunteers, agricultural science teachers, extension educators, agricultural industry representatives, STEM educators, university staff and instructors, state AITC contacts and AITC board members.

TOUR 1: FLORA & FAUNA

We will be guided on a hike in the Canyon Lakes District of the Roosevelt National Forest by members of the Poudre Wilderness Volunteers. PWV volunteers will share Leave No Trace (LNT) principles. Learn how we preserve Colorado's pristine wilderness areas while enjoying the resource. Hike leaders will share information and identification of flora and fauna while demonstrating Leave No Trace.

TOUR 2: ROCKY MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK & ESTES PARK, COLORADO
This tour will take us to Rocky Mountain National Park where we'll be introduced to facts and features of this world-renown park. We'll then go to the historic Stanley Hotel for lunch. The Stanley, if you're a Steven King fan, has a ghostly history and a reputation for good food and dining service. We'll have a couple of hours of free time to explore the town of Estes Park which is filled with one-of-a-kind shops.

POST-
CONFERENCE TOUR: BEER & BARLEY TOUR, FORT COLLINS
When all is said and done, there is more to say and do! Actually if you choose to join us on this tour we recommend extending your stay at the Embassy Suites at least one more night! This post conference tour, as you can tell by the theme, is the grand finale. We'll head north from the hotel to the Anheuser Busch Research Center and Anheuser Busch Brewery. From here, we'll head into Fort Collins to one of the micro-breweries for beer sampling and dinner. Fort Collins is making a name for itself in the world of micro-breweries. We'll learn what is involved in filling this niche. The tour will conclude at the Embassy Suites Loveland.

Workshop, Mini-Workshop & Workshop-on-Wheels Selections
Attendees will be able to select the Mini-Workshops, Workshops and Workshops-on-Wheels to attend when registering or when checking in and picking up credentials at the conference. You will be able to select one morning Workshop, one afternoon Workshop, one morning Mini-Workshop, one afternoon Mini-Workshop and one Workshop-on-Wheels Tour.

Continuing Education Credits for Educators
Colorado State University in Fort Collins, Colorado is partnering with Colorado AITC in certifying this conference for continuing education credits. There will be an additional charge payable onsite with completion of the Colorado State University application form. The application will be available when you pick up your conference credentials.

Colorado Educators
A limited number of scholarships are available for Colorado teachers. Your first step is to apply for the scholarship. That means you are registered with CFA as a teacher. Once we receive your application for scholarship we will email you with instructions to complete your registration. Click here to link to the Colorado Foundation for Agriculture web site.

Exhibitors
You can register as an exhibitor at the conference. State AITC contacts can reserve space for no charge. The fee for non-AITC contacts is $100. Each exhibit space includes one 6-foot by 30-inch clothed display table. Exhibit tables are limited and are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
