----------------------------------------------------------------------

Join us for an IJS retreat this summer for all members of the Hevraya (rabbis, cantors and educators) from July 15-19, 2012.

Our theme will be "The Poetry of Prayer for the Yamim Nora'im."  With our guest text instructor Rabbi Ed Feld, editor of the new Conservative machzor Lev Shalem and a forthcoming companion siddur for Shabbat and Hagim, we will explore tehillim, piyyutim and contemporary poetry (mostly Israeli) on some of the key themes of the Yamim Nora'im (life and death, tefillah, sin, and teshuvah).   In addition, Rabbi Roly Matalon of Congregation B'nai Jeshurun in New York, who serves as co-director of Piyyut North America (http://piyutnorthamerica.org/pages/leadership), will lead several evening sessions on engagement with piyyut as a spiritual practice.

As usual, our retreat will feature an integration of meditation, yoga, text study, prayer, song and silence (as well as the renowned vegetarian cuisine of Trinity!).  In addition to Rabbi Feld, our retreat faculty will include IJS staff Rabbis Sheila Weinberg, Jonathan Slater, Lisa Goldstein, Myriam Klotz and Marc Margolius.

This will be a wonderful opportunity to renew yourself through our core practices of meditation, yoga, text study, and the companionship of the Hevraya, and to introduce a spouse or partner to the practices as well.  If you are interested in attending, or if you’d like additional details, please let me know at marc@jewishspirituality.org.

Retreat Fee (sliding scale according to ability): $800, $920, or $1040 pp for a shared room, and $1050, $1170, or $1290 for a single.

Cancellation Policy:  There will be no refunds for cancellations within two weeks of the start of the retreat [i.e. no refunds will be given for cancellations after July 1st].  Any cancellations before that time will be refunded the full amount, minus a $100 processing fee.

For more information or details about the content of this retreat please contact Rabbi Marc Margolius, Director of Hevraya Programs, at  marc@jewishspirituality.org.
