NSF Training Course: HACCP for Building Water Systems

Course Fee:

$580 General Registration (Industry, Consultants)
$375 Regulatory (Government, Academia, US Military)

Hazards associated with building water systems—including physical hazards (scalding), chemical hazards (lead poisoning, disinfection by-products) and microbial hazards (Legionella; Pseudomonas, NTM) —are a leading cause of preventable disease, injury and death in developed countries.  Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) is a systematic, science-based methodology that has proven effective at preventing hazards from harming people.  In this one-day intensive education and training course, participants learn about the hazards associated with building water systems and how HACCP methodology, adapted to building water systems, can prevent these hazards from causing harm to people.

 The course curriculum includes:

  • Background and history of HACCP
  • HACCP principles
  • Evolution of HACCP for water systems in building
  • HACCP concepts and terminology
  • Hazard control toolbox
  • Balancing competing objectives
  • Introduction to hands-on development of a HACCP Plan

There is an exam at the end of the course; Continuing Education Units (CEUs) are earned for successful completion.

Who should attend:

Building owners, facilities managers, risk professionals, infection preventionists, industrial hygienists, environment health & safety (EH&S) professionals, real estate professionals, plumbing engineers and designers, and regulators.
