The Ohio State University Carbon Management & Sequestration Center is hosting the "Carbon

Sequestration in Urban Ecosystems" symposium on April 14, 2010 from 8 am until 5 pm.  The event will be held at The Ohio State University Fawcett Center.

Leading world experts, key academic researchers, public opinion and thought leaders, carbon offset programmers, elected officials and others involved in terrestrial carbon sequestration will present at this conference. Interactive discussions with attendees will be led by Dr. Rattan Lal with The Ohio State University.

Thought leaders at the forefront of the science of carbon management will share:

  • a working knowledge and understanding of carbon sequestration
  • the state of knowledge on urban carbon sequestration
  • view of governmental policy and position
  • the role of carbon exchange from economic perspective
  • green space contributions to the climate debate
  • the role of sustainable landscapes in urban environments
  • mitigation strategies to capture & hold carbon dioxide
