Why is Fiber College so special?  It's an experience that you won't find anywhere else.  Our classes are wonderful because they're taught by passionate artists to enthusiastic students but it doesn't stop there.  In addition to the opportunities to learn in a classroom setting on the beautiful Penobscot Bay, there are events that make us unique. This year you'll find:

  • Wednesday Evening Dinner with a North Woods Flair
  • Wednesday Evening with James Francis of the Penobscot Indian Nation:
A Sense of Place: Music and Stories of Northern Maine
  • Thursday Evening Virgin Reception, Wear Your Art Cocktail Party,
Teachers' Show & Tell and Trunk Show
  • Free Demonstrations throughout the Weekend
  • Rolling Classes throughout the Weekend
  • Friday Evening Maker's Market
  • Friday Evening Music of Hawk Henries (returning by popular demand)
  • Saturday Surface Design Tent with Susan Tobey White and Betsy Habich
  • Saturday Student Show & Tell and Cocktail Party, Chowder Supper at the Beach.
  • Saturday Evening: First public showing of the completed Gee's Bend Documentary "Do It Your Way" by Alice Seeger
