Public Transportation and Parking - MIT Campus

The easiest way to get to MIT is by public transportation. The program is within walking distance of the Kendall/MIT stop on the MBTA Red Line. Information on public transportation is available at:

If you must drive, allow time for city traffic and limited parking options. On weekdays, there is no public parking available on the MIT campus. The closest public parking lots to the conference are the Boston Marriott Cambridge Garage, the Kendall Center Yellow Garage, and the Kendall Center Green Garage. Hourly rates vary but typically will cost $40 - $50 for a full day. Visitors may find information on off-street parking in the local area at

Transportation between MIT and WHOI

Complimentary bus transportation between MIT and WHOI will be available (must register by September 19).

September 27 Bus Schedule
10:00AM: Depart Clark Lab (360 Woods Hole Road), WHOI Quissett Campus for transportation to Wong Auditorium, Building E51
8:00PM*: Depart from MIT Wong Auditorium, Building E51 (2 Amherst Street) to Clark Lab, WHOI Quissett Campus

September 28 Bus Schedule
9:15AM: Depart from MIT Wiesner Building, Building E15 (20 Ames Street)
9:30AM: Pickup at Sonesta Hotel
11:00AM**: Arrive at Clark Lab, WHOI Quissett Campus

For those who wish to purchase lunch, a bus will be available to Woods Hole Village at times below
11:45AM: Depart Clark Lab (360 Woods Hole Road) to Woods Hole Village (Ferry Terminal 1)
1:00PM: Depart Ferry Terminal 1 (1 Cowdry Road) to return to Clark Lab

8:00PM*: Depart from Clark Lab (360 Woods Hole Road), WHOI Quissett Campus for return to MIT Wiesner Building (E15)
