Although still theoretical, swap execution facilities (SEFs) are almost a reality. By late 2012 or early 2013, SEFs will be the required location for electronic execution of centrally cleared, standardized swaps under Title VII of Dodd-Frank. SEFs will be a critical component of the evolution of the swaps market structure from non-standardized, bilaterally cleared to standardized, electronically traded, centrally cleared swaps. Achieving SEF status and operating as an actual SEF goes beyond registration and enhancements to platforms such as connectivity and clearing. Achieving SEF status is also a sequencing problem, as the timing of rules and registration must be synchronized with development. Furthermore, a prioritized development roadmap will deliver not only integration but also innovation. However, even the most innovative SEF models must still capture the imagination and liquidity of large institutional players on the buy and sell sides.

Join Celent as we examine the subject from multiple angles. Engage with selected peers and learn how they are tackling the myriad issues associated with establishing an SEF and their plans for the future. Topics to be covered include: standardization and innovation in trading protocols, messaging, reporting, clearing certainty and other relevant subjects.

This exclusive, invitation-only event is the first in a series of targeted roundtables to be offered by Celent's Securities and Investments Practice that will focus on important topics of the day. Capitalizing on Celent’s positions as observer and thought leader, these private, closed-door sessions will provide a neutral and confidential environment to allow participants to engage openly. These sessions will be limited to senior industry representatives from select organizations and will not be open to the media. Participants can expect key take-aways from the event,
including shared interests among platforms and next steps. We will explore those shared interests and develop crucial next steps on how the industry can move forward to address these interests.
