The Cyber Security Summit 2012

In the fall of 2011, TSA and the United States Coast Guard (USCG) Cyber Command co-hosted the annual Cyber Security in Transportation Summit. Over 350 attendees across the government and private sector came together for a 2-day conference to discuss multiple cyber security topics specific to our shared mission space.

This year, TSA is proud to announce that we will again host this annual conference on September 24-25 at the Hilton Crystal City at National Airport in Arlington, VA.

Our goal is to provide another comprehensive, relevant, valuable event, as evidenced from the positive feedback we received from last year's conference. The most notable feedback we received was about the distinguished list of speakers who presented at the Summit.  Industry experts, government executives, and thought leaders across the Transportation Sector provided memorable, thought provoking presentations.  Specifically, attendees appreciated…

“...seeing presentations from the private sector.”

“...the realism and honesty.  It is important not to sugar coat this issue because we all need to recognize our own responsibilities and not live with a false sense of reality.”

“…good mix of threat/risk overview and practical experience methodology.”

Always looking for ways to improve, we also asked our attendees for ideas on how we could make the 2012 event even better.  We’ve taken the feedback and intend on making the following changes for this year:
  • This year’s event will be structured to provide more opportunities for interaction and collaboration among speakers and attendees, including breakout sessions and possible workshops.
  • The conference venue will be set up in a way that allows more room for attendees to sit comfortably and take notes.
  • The Law Enforcement and state/local communities will be encouraged to contribute their perspectives and expertise.

Thank you to everyone that submitted requests to participate in the 2012 Cyber Security Summit!  Based on the enthusiastic wave of responses we received, we now have a group of diverse, exceptional speakers and presenters covering a variety of important topics in cyber security and that will ensure an informative and valuable experience for all participants.

Although we are no longer accepting speaker requests for this year's Summit, we value the knowledge and expertise of all interested participants and hope that you will consider participation next year or in a related event.
