Dear Colleagues:

You are cordially invited to register for the ISN-ASN 2013 Cancun Satellite Meeting Understanding Glial Cell Functions in the Normal and Injured CNS, to be held at the Hotel El Castellano, Mérida, México

This meeting organized by the Iberoamerican Glial Network (RGIA) will focus on different aspects of new functions attributed to glial cells, in particular astroglia and microglia. Topics range from new functions of glial cells during development, the role of glutamine transporters, signals regulating the neuroinflammatory processes and the glial modulation of the immune system, as well as roles played by astroglia and microglia in neurodegenerative diseases.

The Meeting will start on Wednesday 17 April at 17.00 with a Plenary Lecture, and will end on Friday 19 April at 18.00 with a Closing Dinner.  On Saturday morning, April 20 a transfer to Cancun will be provided in time to attend the ISN-ASN Joint Meeting Opening Session at the Cancun Convention Center.

The topics will be organized in morning and afternoon oral sessions. The program includes two plenary lectures (Monica J. Carson and Bruce R. Ransom) and 6 symposia (4 outstanding experts in the field/each). The event will also accommodate 2 oral sessions (12 talks/each selected from submitted abstracts), as well as a continuous poster exhibition, so that attendants will have the opportunity to present and discuss their results along the meeting.

As the number or participants will be restricted to 100 and registration will be done on a first-come, first-served basis, we recommend registering as soon as possible to secure your participation. Participation of predoctoral and postdoctoral students is strongly encouraged.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any question or need further information.  We look forward to meeting you in México.
