Energy Workshop for Educators
November 6, 2013

An invitation for you to an Energy Workshop for Educators

Energize your earth science, physics and energy curriculum materials with the National Energy Education Development (NEED) Project on November 6, 2013.

There is no cost to attend because the workshop is being underwritten by the Elba Liquefaction Company a partnership between Kinder Morgan and Shell.

The workshop provides educators a unique opportunity to receive training and updated curriculum materials that will help support interactive teaching about types of energy, energy resources, and energy issues engaging and fun for students.   The workshop is targeted to grades 6-8, but NEED’s portfolio is K-12, so educators of all levels will benefit.

There is no cost for educators to attend and breakfast, lunch, and substitute reimbursement are also included. Substitute reimbursement is provided to the school after the workshop.

At the workshop, educators will receive sets of standards-aligned energy curriculum and a Science of Energy Kit that teaches the concepts of force, motion, light, sound, heat, electricity, and energy transformations through hands-on activities and discussion. Additional curriculum materials include a Science of LNG (liquefied natural gas) backgrounder and engaging activities that will help bring energy to life for students.

Note:  A security list is submitted to Shell several days in advance of the workshop.  Late registrations are not accepted.  All participants should bring a photo ID. and wear comfortable closed-toe walking shoes the day of the workshop.

Substitute reimbursement forms are provided at the workshop and substitute costs are reimbursed to schools. If your school has a question, contact NEED at 800-875-5029.

The NEED Project includes teacher-tested educational materials, evaluation techniques and tools, recognition of student achievement, and professional development for educators.  All NEED learning activities are aligned to Georgia education standards.

Kinder Morgan and Shell affiliates have formed the Elba Liquefaction Company, L.L.C. to develop a natural gas liquefaction plant in two phases at the existing Elba Island Terminal near Savannah. The resulting LNG will be loaded onto ships for export.
Subject to various corporate and regulatory approvals, the total project is projected to have liquefaction capacity of approximately 2.5 million tonnes per annum of LNG.
The project will generate several hundred temporary jobs during construction and more than 75 permanent jobs once the facility is operational.

Registration Deadline:  October 25, 2013

Confirmation will be sent via email after your registration is completed, please set your spam filter to accept email from regonline@regonline.com.  Directions will be sent with registration confirmation.
