NICE Intrapartum guidelines (2014) call for a positive cultural change in maternity care towards normalising birth, reducing medical intervention and supporting women’s choice.  The conference this year will examine the intersection between the social and industrial model of maternity care and identify ways in which improvements can be made to provide excellent care for couples giving birth in the UK today.
