Overall Activity Outcome:  
Participants of this program will gain an in-depth understanding of Motivational Interviewing (MI) as an evidence based approach to support health behavior change.  They will express an increased ability to prevent and/or manage chronic diseases and other healthcare issues by focusing on how to help patients self-manage symptoms and therefore improve their own health.

Access to an interactive health behavior change website for follow-up networking and peer support is also included. Lunch and materials will be provided.

Target Audience
All healthcare professionals who work directly with patients will benefit from this program. This includes registered nurses, advanced practice nurses, physicians, physician assistants, pharmacists, dentists, and others who work with clients facing difficult choices in health behavior change, and/or those with chronic illness.

Continuing Education Credit
Nursing (CNE Credit)
The University of Colorado College of Nursing is an approved provider of continuing nursing education by the Western Multi-State Division, an accredited approver by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.
This educational program for 7 contact hours is provided by the University of Colorado College of Nursing Office of Continuing Education.  A CNE certificate will be emailed to participants within 30 days of the completion of the program.

Pharmacists and Pharmacy Professionals
Pharmacy (CPE Credit)

The CU Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences (SSPPS) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. This activity is accredited for 7.0 contact hours (0.7 CEUs) of application-based continuing pharmacy education credit. To claim credit, pharmacist participants must attend the program, complete the online evaluation and provide their NABP eProvile ID number and month and day of their birthdate. CE credit will be uploaded to CPE Monitor within 30 days after the program.

A general Certificate of Attendance can be provided upon request.

Refund Policy
If you find you are unable to attend, please read this policy carefully.   

Our programs are priced to provide the best value possible for current healthcare CE. Because of this, it is important to provide registration opportunities to all those interested in attending within the capacity allowable.   

If you request cancellation by 5:00 pm on Friday, August 25, 2017, a refund will be issued less a $50.00 processing fee.  

No refunds will be granted after 8/25/17.

If the College of Nursing must cancel the event, a full refund minus handling fees will be granted to participants.
