Cultivating a healthy culture of continuous improvement throughout your organization starts with the mindset of each person. Join your fellow local government improvement enthusiasts as we welcome Dan Markovitz, a dynamic speaker and Shingo award-winning author of Building the Fit Organization and Factory of One.

How many times have you heard people say governments are full of waste? How often do you feel the weight of waste in your own work processes? Does all the talk and work around reducing waste in government ever leave you feeling tired and frustrated?

If you are looking for a healthier and more creative outlook in making government work better, you do not want to miss this event!

Whether you are responsible for your team or organization’s continuous improvement or simply interested in learning for yourself what one person can do to improve daily effectiveness and satisfaction in government, this workshop is for you.

Join us on November 7 & 8 and you will leave inspired with powerful tools to do more of what you really signed up to do in government: creating amazing public value!

Note that the event capacity is capped at 170 and demand will be high as it is our most popular event of the year, so sign up as soon as you can!

Lunches are self organized

  • Free parking is available at the Tacoma Dome Transit Station parking garage. The free Link light rail train runs from the garage to campus every 10 minutes.
  • Park all day for $6-7 in the TIOGA lot on 21st and Jefferson or under the Court 17 apartments.
  • Dress for the weather and wear comfortable shoes.  You may need to walk several blocks from your parking space to the venue. In December it will be cold, windy, and rainy.
  • DO NOT PARK ON-THE-STREET USING METERED PARKING FOR ALL DAY EVENTS.  It is limited to 90 minutes – 2 hours and you must move your car each time.  You can’t just feed the meter and leave your car there all day. They ticket all day until 8:00 p.m. for about $37.
  • In good shape and looking for a free space?  Park up the hill several blocks and find unrestricted street parking where there are no meters.  Drive around and check alleys for parking spots.  These are scarce, fill fast and are unmonitored.
