About the Program 
This three and one-half day conference has been described by previous attendees as “the best cardiothoracic” conference they attend. This year there will be updates in multiple areas of heart and lung transplantation including recipient and donorevaluation and risk assessment, post-transplant issues including chronic rejection, patient management, alternate treatments to transplant such as LVADs and ECMO.

The target audience for this renowned program includes: cardiothoracic surgeons, pulmonologists, cardiologists, internists, primary care physicians, nurse specialists and transplant coordinators.


Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this program, participants should be able to:
  1. Analyze the results of recent studies regarding the use of geographic organ allocation
  2. Identify strategies for the optimal care of post-transplant immunosuppression
  3. Assess the use of ex-vivo perfusion methods for heart and lung donor organs
  4. Understand the role of mechanical assist devices as a bridge to heart or lung transplantation
  5. Evaluate the role of molecular monitoring for rejection in thoracic transplantation
