Join the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) Child and Adolescent Health Center Program (CAHC) and School-Community Health Alliance of Michigan (SCHA-MI) for their 2019 joint annual meeting at the beautiful and historic Dearborn Inn on October 20-22, 2019. There will be opportunities to receive important program updates, network with other sites and participate in breakout sessions on a variety of administrative, clinical and mental health topics.


Note: Each state-funded center or program must send at least one attendee to represent their site, preferably the program coordinator. If you have any questions regarding who to send, please contact your assigned MDHHS consultant.

Who Should Attend?
This conference is designed for school-based/linked health center staff, including primary care providers, mental health providers, medical assistants, administrators and state partners from the Child and Adolescent Health Center Programs. 

Registration Fee
The registration fee for the entire conference, including the Sunday pre-conference, was $75. The fee increased to $100 on October 1st. The fee includes all sessions and breakfast and lunch on October 21 and 22.

Featured Sessions and Keynote Speakers 
Pre-conference Session: CAHC Program Orientation for Providers
This session is designed for the main clinical provider in the health center.
Sunday, October 20: 1:00-4:00 p.m.

Angela Reed and Kayla Street of MDHHS will focus on orienting the CAHC providers to essentials program requirements from the perspective of the clinician. 


Improvisation and the Art of Improvement
Monday, October 21: 9:15-10:15 a.m.
Sarah Horst,
Healthcare Consultant at the Institute for Clinical Systems Improvement in Minnesota, will share how to approach people and problems with an improvisational mindset.

Burn-Out to Buy-In:  Simple Tools to Change Your Improvement Conversations
Monday, October 21: 3:15-4:30 p.m.
Sarah Horst
will return to explore the psychology of leading change and how to help move the work forward,

Trauma, Resilience and Redemption
Tuesday, October 22: 8:45-10:00 a.m.
Derek Clark
of Never Limit Your Life will describe from first-hand experience what dysphoria feels like and the various coping mechanisms that youth may try to feel better about their bodies.
