Created for, and offered only to, friends of Sustainable Minds
This workshop is by invitation only to individuals and organizations who have worked with, met with, and supported Sustainable Minds in the product development process, or are currently running a trial. This is our way of thanking you and continuing our human-centered design process in the design of our workshops! Sustainable Minds is now in beta but not yet publicly advertised or available. (There is no information about this workshop on the Web site.)

What you'll learn

Whether you yourself want to learn more, or you'd like others in your organization to start acquiring ecodesign knowledge and skills, this workshop has been designed to enable you to use Sustainable Minds with greater proficiency to deliver even greater value to your organization now.

How to design 'greener' products right, from the start.
  • Background to ecological issues in design, ecological impact assessment methods and life cycle assessment
  • Innovation through ecodesign strategies
How to conduct a Sustainable Minds LCA.
  • Understanding Okala Impact Factors
  • When and how in the design process Sustainable Minds can be used
  • How to interpret results to generate new concepts
  • How to integrate environmental impact assessment into your current design processes

Attendees

  • Individuals from product design and engineering consultancies and manufacturing companies who are championing sustainable products
  • Educators in industrial design and mechanical engineering programs who are teaching the next generation of practitioners.

There are many people in an organization involved in making decisions about how products are made. That's why everyone needs to use a life cycle thinking approach; designers, design engineers, product managers, product development directors, sustainability managers, marketers and executives in charge of sustainable development. Because of this, we recommend sending 1+ people from your organization!

Also attending – Meet the SM team and our expert LCA and product design partners.

Tuition: $995

As an additional ‘friend of SM’ benefit, included with the workshop is a 15-month, single user subscription to Sustainable Minds – an additional three months added to our standard annual subscription. Accounts will be activated prior to the workshop so participants can familiarize themselves with conducting a Sustainable Minds LCA.
