In light of the U.S. government’s aggressive new CAFE mileage standard targets, Plastics News and European Plastics News are organizing the Plastics in Lightweight & Electric Vehicles 2011 conference to assess the fast-changing area of vehicle lightweighting, from multiple perspectives.

Various speakers and sessions will look at the role plastics can play in interiors, seating, exteriors, structural, powertrain and under-the-hood components, as well as in electrification, battery and hybrid technology. In addition to offering increased styling and design freedom, plastics also will play a key role in tomorrow's environmentally friendly electric and hybrid vehicles -- from traditional parts to battery components.

SPEAKER LINEUP INCLUDES:

The conference opens Nov. 7 with a pair of concurrent (optional) afternoon workshops presented by Engel Group and Sigma Plastic Services, followed by two days of speaker sessions – with plenty of time built in for networking among the exhibits.

Plastics in Lightweight & Electric Vehicles 2011 will end at 3:30 p.m. on Nov. 9 so that participants can then go down the street to the SPE Automotive Division's Innovation Awards Competition & Gala
that evening at Burton Manor in Livonia (just 5 miles east of the PN Global Group conference at Laurel Manor). Plastics in Lightweight & Electric Vehicle attendees may register at the discounted rate of $150/seat and get a free pass to the VIP reception.
