Lodging Options in the Area

Searsport and Belfast Maine are two towns right at the center of Maine’s seemingly endless coastline. Searsport is a village that offers the kind of downtown experience that begs you to wander for a few hours, eat a nibble and maybe finish the day sitting on the fishing pier watching the lobster and sail boats bobbing on the waves. It’s home to the Penobscot Marine Museum a destination in and of itself.

Belfast is our town…it’s hip, it’s chic and it’s fun…just 5 miles South of Searsport and the campus of Fiber College. You’ll find plenty of reasons to wander the shops, eat the great food and just soak up the atmosphere…the galleries alone with fire your inspiration and satiate any space left in your soul for more color and texture.

As you know, Fiber College is hosted at Searsport Shores Ocean Campground…and there’s plenty of room for the smallest tents, the largest RVs and every camping set-up under the sun. So, if this is how you like to vacation, we hope that you’ll contact them and make a reservation soon. Rates range from $10-$80 depending on how you’d like to camp.
There's also a starving artist bunkhouse, a cozy cabin and two bedroom travel trailers.

Not everybody likes to sit by a campfire and drink their coffee at a picnic table. Lucky for us there are plenty of lodging options within a 10-15 minute radius of Fiber College to meet every need. Contact them directly and if you have any problems don’t hesitate contacting us and we’ll try to help with your arrangements. Consider spending the week~ why rush when there’s so much to see and do within the area?

There's something here for all.

The house was built in 1851 by John Stanwood Caldwell, a direct descendant of one of the original Waldo Land Patent holders. The original cherry spiral staircase leads up to four bright and charmingly decorated guest rooms. Relax in one of our three parlors, on the shady veranda or the spacious grounds.  Enjoy a 3-course country breakfast that guests say "makes lunch unnecessary."

Harbor, shops, restaurants and attractions are just a short stroll away.

Personal Message to Fiber College Fans: “we would be glad to offer a 10% discount on guest rooms #1 & 2. Each has a queen bed & private bath.  Rooms #3 & 4 are a suite already discounted. Each guest (3-4) of those rooms are really only paying half of the $160.00 a night.  Seven % tax is extra.   Guests will be treated to a full Special Fall Breakfast. We have 3 comfortable cozy common rooms that offer a place to relax, share a glass of wine, chat and unwind in front of a fireplace if you’d like a place to knit or sew with friends both old and new.  We’d be happy to offer further discount for a group of friends booking all four rooms…why not make your dreams of a coastal retreat a reality this September?

There are 3 Common Rooms, (2 with fireplaces) available for fiber students to gather.  Mulled cider & donuts are served in the evening or you can bring your own special beverage to relax with.
