James Surowiecki is The New Yorker’s  financial columnist and a bestselling author.

Mr. Surowiecki came to The New Yorker from Slate, where he wrote the Moneybox column. He has also been a contributing editor at Fortune and a staff writer at Talk. Previously, he was the business columnist for New York magazine. His contributions include the The Wall Street Journal, Wired, the New York Times Magazine, the Washington Post, and the Lingua Franca. He has written on subjects ranging from Silicon Valley to college basketball.

James Surowiecki is the author of “The Wisdom of Crowds: Why the Many Are Smarter than the Few and How Collective Wisdom Shapes Business, Economies, Societies, and Nations” which was published in 2004.

    Attendee & Guest Cancellation Policy:
    All cancellations for the E*TRADE Directions 2014 Conference must be made via RegOnline by Friday, May 2, 2014.  An automatic refund will be processed following the cancellation.  No cancellations/refunds will be processed after Friday, May 2, 2014.
