  Mr. Roopam Asthana is the Chief Executive Officer and Whole Time Director of Liberty Videocon General Insurance Company Limited. He has been the founding employee of the company and has been instrumental in getting the joint venture formed, licensed and setup. He has over thirty years of experience in the financial services sector spanning domestic and international Banking, Non-Bank Finance companies and Insurance. Prior to joining Liberty Videocon General Insurance, he was with GE Capital as the Chief Executive Officer of SBI Cards and Payment Services Pvt. Ltd. and GE Capital Business Process Management Services Pvt Ltd – which jointly managed the GE-SBI Payment Card business in India. During his tenure in GE –SBI Card Products, the organization saw introduction of a slew of transformational payment card products like the TATA Card and Indian Railways Credit Card and he is also credited for overseeing an effective expansion of the scope of the JV through a planned progression geographically as well as into other sectors of high-growth consumer financial services industry like personal loans and insurance in conjunction with the payment card business.   Before joining GE Capital, Roopam worked with HSBC Bank for over 17 years in various commercial banking assignments across a number of cities in India and USA spanning Consumer Banking, Corporate Banking, Strategic Planning, NRI Banking, Credit Cards and Financial Control. Roopam holds a Bachelor’s Degree from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi and a Masters in Business Administration (PGDM) from IIM Ahmedabad.

  Nick Holder currently serves as Chief Operating Officer of Prudential Indonesia and is a member of the company's Board of Directors. He joined the Prudential group in 2002, and has worked for the group in six regions: the UK, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia. His previous roles with Prudential included Regional Head of Internal Audit for Asia; General Manager Shared Services; and Chief Financial Officer for both Prudential Thailand and Prudential Vietnam. Nick has Master's degrees in Philosophy, Politics and Economics form Oxford University and Business Systems Analysis and Design from City University, London. He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and a Chartered Fellow of the Securities and Investment Institute.

  Yuya Fukumori works in business development for Celent and is based in our Tokyo office. He provides local support for Celent clients across Asia-Pacific and identifies strategies and opportunities to expand client relationships. Prior to joining Celent, Mr. Fukumori worked as an Account Manager in the Sales and Marketing Division at Jiji Press Ltd., where he was responsible for sales of capital markets data and news feed services for financial institutions in Japan.
     
 
Srinivasan Iyengar

   Srinivasa (Srini) has over 28 years of experience in the Life Insurance industry across India and Asia, having held senior consulting, business and Strategic roles. In this long career, Srini has worked in multiple functions in the Insurance vertical. He started his career with Life Insurance Corporation in India and later moved to the IT industry. He was subsequently part of the start-up team for ICICI Prudential Life Insurance in India, and then heading regional application development for Prudential Services Asia based in Malaysia. Later he moved on to Tata Consultancy Services' (TCS) insurance practice. In 2007, he joined AEGON Religare start-up team as Head-IT and Change Management and took over as Director - IT & Operations in August 2009. On 1st October 2010, he took over as the Chief Operations Officer (COO) and holding responsibility for technology, Process, Operations, Service & Underwriting functions. On 1st February 2013, he joined Reliance Life Insurance as COO. He has the unique experience of being on both the end-user side, consulting side and delivery side. He is a regular speaker at international/industry events and won the CIO 100 2009, 2010 and 2011 and CXO 2012 awards.

  KyongSun Kong is an analyst with Celent's Asian Financial Services group and is based in the firm's Seoul office. Her areas of expertise include mobile payments and other innovative financial services and delivery channels, retail brokerage, and the Korean financial services industry. Previously, KyongSun worked as a translator, interpreter, and editor focused on financial services, including the banking, capital markets, and insurance industries. KyongSun received a Bachelor of Arts degree in British and American studies and intercultural studies from the Kyoto University of Foreign Studies. Hans Loozekoot

  Hans Loozekoot joined Ageas more than 22 years ago and is a seasoned insurance professional. During his career he held various senior management positions in the domains of sales, finance and strategy. In 2007 he moved to Asia and took up assignments in Hong Kong, India and currently the Philippines. Mid-2015, Hans was appointed as President & CEO of EastWest Ageas Life which operates under the brand “Troo”. The company is a greenfield life insurance joint venture with Ageas and EastWest Banking Corporation as shareholders. Troo wants to differentiate itself from competitors by targeting the mobile savvy and young Filipinos using new technologies and digital platforms. Prior to moving to the Philippines, Hans was Managing Director Strategy and M&A in Asia and a member of the Management Committee Ageas Asia. He also enjoyed living in India where he held the CFO position at IDBI Federal the insurance joint venture in which Ageas holds a 26% stake. When young, Hans was dreaming of being a rock star. Nowadays he likes to listen to music of Coldplay and Oasis. Other passions of Hans are traveling, outdoor activities and cooking pastas and Indian curries.

He is conducting long range and international research on various fields such as advanced IT, Cyber-security, and Singularity. His research activities include traveling around the world, presenting at conferences and seminars. As a visiting lecturer at The University of Tokyo, Kyushu University and University of Tsukuba. he is teaching “Addressing Social Issues with ICT”, “Career Development“, “Social Happiness” and ”Engineer’s Ethics”. He is one of the 10 alumni of “Singularity University Executive Program” in Japan.

  Nicolas Michellod is a senior analyst with Celent’s Insurance practice and is based in Zurich, Switzerland. He has 15 years of experience in the financial industry acquired in the banking and insurance sectors. During his insurance years, he held different C-level positions and has led a claims system replacement project. Nicolas’ research has concentrated on continental European insurance markets with a specific focus on France and insurance systems including life policy administration, document automation and risk management systems. Solvency II, online insurance and IT strategy and document management in insurance are particular topics he has recently covered. Since joining Celent, Nicolas has advised multiple insurance companies and vendors on IT and business strategies including strategic IT programme alignment, partnership evaluation, conceptualization of crosscountry system implementations, and risk management IT strategy validation. Hans van Wuijckhuijse

  Hans van Wuijckhuijse is in Ageas’ Regional Office leading the activities for building, developing and transforming insurance businesses, as the regional CIO he is member of Ageas’ Group IT Board. His main areas of expertise are Operations and IT; creating optimal target operating models for partnerships and markets, and change, programme and project management. Recently he was responsible for creating a life insurance company in Singapore. For Ageas’ new life insurance ventures in the Philippines and Vietnam he developed an end-to-end, cloud based solution set, globally the first of its kind. Previously he was Chief Operating Officer of IDBI Federal Life Insurance, Ageas’ joint venture in India and responsible for Operations, IT and Business Solutions. Since 1997 he has held a range of different positions within Ageas like Director IT & Operations for Asia, Chief of Staff of the CEO Fortis and programme manager of several transformational programmes. Prior to joining Ageas he worked for a software development company and the IT company of the Dutch Association of Real Estate Agents. He holds a MBA of the Maastricht School of Management. Hans is based in Hong Kong at Ageas’ Regional Office for Asia.
     

Eiichiro Yanagawa

  Eiichiro Yanagawa is a senior analyst with Celent's Asian Financial Services group and is based in the firm’s Tokyo office. His research focuses on IT strategy issues in the Japanese and Asian banking and financial industries. His recent research has included core banking systems, ATMs, anti-money laundering technology, electronic trading, document management, IT spending trends, and business process outsourcing. Eiichiro's consulting experience includes development of bank IT strategies, thin client / desktop virtualization to support business continuity, evaluation of data centers for hosting core systems, and vendor selection of AML, risk management, and other technologies. Prior to joining Celent, Eiichiro was the Chief Manager of the Financial Global Solutions Division and the Regional Bank Financial Solutions Division at NEC Corporation in Tokyo. He was responsible for developing NEC’s core banking system, strategic marketing planning, and consulting on financial institution systems. Prior to that, Eiichiro was the General Manager of the Financial Services Division at NEC Corporation of America in New York. In this role, he worked on the development of IT strategy and advised clients, mainly Japanese financial institutions, on outsourcing and selection of software packages.
     

James Yang

   James graduated from the famous Tsinghua University in China, James completed his MBA in Erasmus University of the Netherland. He has worked for various positions for European and North American companies before he came back and joined Ping An. Since joining this insurance giant of China, James contributed to the development of its mobile and digital platforms and applications. He is the inventor of the Smartselfi mobile application which won the Celent award last year, and again this year. The smart agent application gained the popularity in Ping An's telematics and ground sales forces.





     

Jenny Ying

  A veteran with 20 years working experience in China insurance industry. As PMO of AXA Tianping P&C Insurance Company, Jenny led the claims transformation and the first Guidewire ClaimCenter implementation in China.  The transition of the claims core system, together with new mobile investigator and customer tools and vendor portal, lasted for 18 months. The ecosystem integrated with dozens of surrounding system, handling about 2,000 claims every day.






     

Zia Zaman
CIO, Asia and Head of LumenLab MetLife Innovation Centre

  Zia Zaman joined MetLife in July 2014 as the Chief Innovation Officer for the Asia region. In his role, Zia is responsible for leading LumenLab, the industry-first innovation center, and steering the innovation agenda for the Asia region. He is a member of MetLife's Asia Leadership Group and is based in Singapore. Zia joined MetLife from SingTel, where he spent 3 years, more recently as the Chief Strategy Officer and VP of Emerging Businesses for SingTel's Group Enterprise. He also co-lead the acquisition of US-based Amobee, jumpstarting SingTel's entry into the mobile advertising market. Prior to SingTel, Zia was the Chief Strategy Officer for LG Electronics North America during 2008-2011 and also served as the Chief Marketing Officer at FAST where he successfully positioned FAST as a leader in the enterprise search space which culminated in a US$1.2 billion acquisition by Microsoft in 2008. At Gartner, a research and advisory firm known for its "crystal ball", Zia ran the North American strategy consulting practice during 2003-2006. In the earlier part of his career, Zia was a member for the M&A team at Sun Microsystems. Zia has occupied various board positions at tech startups and was a board member on Viking. He currently sits on the Board of the Energy Market Authority of Singapore.
