Wednesday February 28 – Departure
Depart for Israel

Thursday March 1 – Arrival
Land at Ben Gurion Airport; transfer to Tel Aviv; check into hotel. Dinner at hotel. Review program with clergy leaders and tour guide. Overnight: Dan Panorama, Tel Aviv

Friday March 2 – SAMARIA; JAFFA
After breakfast at hotel, visit Shiloh: Originally, the location of the Ark of the Covenant, it is here the high priest Eli lived and the prophet Samuel grew to manhood. Return to Tel Aviv. Lunch on own in arts and crafts fair or in the Carmel Market, Tel Aviv's open-air market; Continue to Jaffa: See the entrance to the house of Simon the Tanner (Tabitha, Acts 9:36) Hear the story of Jonah and the big fish (Jonah 1). Return to hotel to rest and freshen up. Drive to Rosh Ha'ayin to join Reform Jewish congregation, Kehillat Bavat Ayin, in welcoming the Sabbath. Go to members' homes for dinner. Return to Tel Aviv. Overnight: Dan Panorama Tel Aviv

Saturday March 3 – CAESAREA
After breakfast, check out of hotel. Drive to Caesarea. We will explore the Roman Theater, harbor, newly excavated hippodrome, palace, and aqueducts. Mt. Carmel: Where Elijah confronted the prophets of Baal. Druze Restaurant for lunch. Megiddo: The Chariot City of King Solomon; explore the excavations and view the Jezreel Valley where the nations will gather at Armageddon. Drive to the Sea of Galilee; Check into hotel. Dinner at hotel. Overnight: Kibbutz Ein Gev Guest House

Sunday March 4 – ISRAEL’S NORTHERN BORDER
After breakfast, drive to Ancient Dan: A beautiful nature reserve provides a backdrop as we visit this ancient Israeli city and see where wicked King Jeroboam set up a golden calf. Visit Caesarea Philippi: This is where Peter made his great profession, “Thou art the Christ, the Son of the Living God.”. Falafel lunch on own next to Birkat Ram in northern Golan Heights. Visit Mt Bental, overlooking site of decisive tank battle in the 1973 Yom Kippur War. Visit Mt. Arbel: Panoramic View of Sea of Galilee. Return to guest house; dinner at guest house. Overnight: Kibbutz Ein Gev Guest House

Monday March 5 – Around the Sea of Galilee
After breakfast at guest house visit Magdala, site of 1st century Jewish fishing village, including excavated synagogue and ritual baths from the period. Visit Capernaum: This city witnessed many of Jesus’ miracles. Mt. Beatitudes: Where Christ delivered the Sermon on the Mount. St Peter's fish lunch at restaurant on shore of Sea of Galilee. Boat ride on the Sea of Galilee; See Jesus’ Boat. Chorazin: A city condemned by Jesus for its lack of faith. Kursi: The mountainside where the demons entered the swine after being cast out of the demoniac. Return to guest house; dinner at guest house. Debriefing time to discuss the day. Overnight: Kibbutz Ein Gev Guest House

Tuesday March 6 – JORDAN VALLEY
After breakfast at guest house drive to Belvoir:  The Star of Jordan; famous and perhaps best Crusader fortress in Israel. Continue to Bet-She’an: These roman ruins sit in the shadow of the hill where the Philistines displayed the bodies of King Saul and his sons. Lunch on own. Baptism in the Jordan River at Yardenit: We will have the opportunity to be baptized in the same waters in which John baptized Jesus. Dinner at guest house. Meet with representative of Achim L’Chaim (Brothers for Life), a non-profit organization made up of wounded Israeli soldiers helping in the rehabilitation of other wounded Israeli soldiers. Overnight: Kibbutz Ein Gev Guest House

Wednesday March 7 – MASADA, THE WILDERNESS, AND DEAD SEA
After breakfast, check out of guest house. Drive to Ein Gedi: One of the places where David encountered Saul. Masada; ascend via cable car; tour Herod's fortress and site of the Zealots' last stand against the Romans in 73 A.D.; descend via cable car. Lunch at Masada. Float/swim in Dead Sea, the lowest place on earth. Drive up to Jerusalem. Check in to hotel. Dinner at hotel. Debriefing session. Overnight: Dan Panorama, Jerusalem

Thursday March 8 – Jerusalem
After early breakfast, drive to Old City. Go up on the Temple Mount. Visit City of David; opportunity to go on water walk through Hezekiah’s Tunnel and see the Pool of Siloam where the blind man washed the mud off his eyes and received his sight from Jesus. Visit the Davidson Archaeological Park, with archaeological remains dating back from the First and Second Temple periods; see the Southern Temple Steps. Lunch on own in Jewish Quarter. Tour Western Wall Tunnel (tentative). Walk on the Cardo, the main street built by the Romans 1900 years ago. Continue to Mt Zion; visit the Room of the Last Supper. Visit Caiaphas’ House. Dinner at hotel. Overnight: Dan Panorama, Jerusalem

Friday March 9 – Yad Vashem
After breakfast, visit Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum and Memorial. Lunch on own in Machane Yehuda, Jerusalem’s open-air market. Free time. Drive to Kotel (Western Wall) as Jews welcome the Sabbath. Return to hotel. Traditional Sabbath dinner at hotel. Overnight: Dan Panorama, Jerusalem

Saturday March 10 – The Old City
Buffet breakfast at hotel. Drive to Mt of Olives for panoramic view and historical overview. Walk down the Mount of Olives. Visit Gethsemane (Matthew 26:36) including study and worship. Enter Old City via Lions Gate. Visit Pools of Bethesda and St Anne’s Church, a beautiful Crusader church famous for its acoustics. Lunch on own in Christian Quarter of Old City. Visit Church of the Holy Sepulcher. Free time to shop in Christian Quarter. Continue to Garden Tomb including communion service. Return to hotel. Dinner at hotel. Overnight: Dan Panorama, Jerusalem       

Sunday March 11 – The Israel Museum
After breakfast at hotel visit the Israel Museum including the Shrine of the Book, housing some of the Dead Sea scrolls found in Qumran; then see the famous Second Temple model of the city of Jerusalem. Return to Old City. Lunch on own in Christian Quarter. Free time in Christian Quarter. Return to hotel. Discussion summarizing trip. Drive to restaurant in Abu Ghosh, Arab community outside of Jerusalem. After dinner, return to hotel. Overnight: Dan Panorama, Jerusalem

Monday March 12 – Back to US
After breakfast, check out; drive to airport. Fly to US
