David Easthope

David leads Celent's Securities & Investments practice. He directs the overall research agenda across capital markets, wealth and asset management, and risk and compliance. David's own research focuses on themes of strategic importance in the securities sector, including the digital transformation of capital markets, innovative technology solutions, and the deployment of emerging technology across securities operations. Recent bespoke work involves advising clients on developing new technology strategies, platforms and market infrastructures. He has also advised strategic and private equity investors on technology trends. David has been widely referenced in the press, including Bloomberg, Financial Times, and CNBC. He is a frequent speaker at industry events (SIBOS, ISITC, and Trade Tech) and Celent client events in San Francisco, Silicon Valley, London, New York, and Tokyo. Before Celent, David was a director of strategy at Charles Schwab. Prior to this role, he has held positions at Celent as an analyst focusing on technology in capital markets. He has also held analyst and research roles at Raymond James & Associates and Friedman, Billings, Ramsey.


Joséphine de Chazournes
Senior Analyst

Joséphine de Chazournes is a senior analyst with Celent’s Securities & Investments practice and is based in Milan. Her research focuses on capital markets innovation and emerging technologies. She covers the legacy and ecosystem transformation theme across capital markets, including across asset classes, cash and derivatives, listed and OTC, and from pre- to post-trade. Joséphine is a frequent speaker on strategy, regulation, and the impact of technology on fixed income and FX market infrastructure. Prior to joining Celent, Joséphine was a business strategy and development consultant with European retail bond MTF EuroTLX, where she mainly helped design their European expansion strategy, including their participation to the request for information of a new European Institutional Credit MTF by the Cassiopeia Committee, sponsored by the French Ministry of Economy and Finance. Previously Joséphine worked with the London Stock Exchange and Borsa Italiana, taking care of their relationship and projects with international investors. Prior to that, she was a senior associate with Goldman Sachs International’s capital markets internal strategy and management team in London, with a focus on their fixed income and equity derivatives activities. She started her career as a management consultant with strategy boutique Corporate Value Associates in London.

John is a Senior Analyst with our Securities Investments Practice and is based in London.John's research focuses on Capital Markets FinTech including: Blockchain, Digital Assets (Cryptocurrencies & Utility Tokens), Initial Coin Offerings, and the evolution of buy and sell side business models.His thought-leadership regarding public Blockchains has explored the impact of Decentralization and Tokenization on the structure of global economy. He has participated in RegTech Accelerators, judged FinTech competitions, and led discussions on various panels at major FinTech conferences globally. John has experience working with executives across financial services on strategy, capital raising, and advisory. He spent fourteen years in equity capital markets (ECM) within investment banking at Merrill Lynch, Goldman Sachs, and Macquarie Capital. He was Head of Emerging Markets ECM, Macquarie Capital; Natural Resources ECM, Macquarie Capital; and Middle East ECM, Goldman Sachs. His experience straddles both public and private equity markets advising governments, private equity, venture capital, and corporates on financings. He has a detailed understanding of global capital flows and demand potential from traditional institutional investors, hedge funds, and sovereign wealth funds.

Arin Ray

Arin Ray is a Senior Analyst with Celent's Securities & Investments practice and is based in the firm's New York office. Arin's expertise lies in the areas of trading, post-trade, and risk and compliance operations in capital markets where he has published extensively on business, regulatory, and technology trends in trading, clearing and settlement, trade and communication surveillance, Know Your Customer (KYC), and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) related issues. His advisory engagements have included developing technology strategy including vendor selection for financial institutions, benchmarking, and market entry and expansion studies for financial institutions and technology providers. In his recent consulting work, he has advised a European financial services provider to devise their post trade strategy, a tier 1 brokerage in their product and technology strategy, a leading international exchange in their market entry and growth strategy, and banks and payment providers in AML technology strategy and vendor selection process. Arin’s research and byline articles have been widely published in the news media and trade journals, including Reuters, Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, Dow Jones, Washington Post, Euromoney, Economic Times, BusinessWeek, The Journal of Trading, and gtnews among others. Arin regularly speaks at conferences and industry events on latest technology trends in financial services.
