Grand Tasting / Culinary Awards

Saturday, April 6, 2019 | 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM

RESTAURANT STIPENDS:

If you participate in ONE Grand Tasting, NOWFE will provide a $100 stipend (paid out after the event). 
If you participate in BOTH Grand Tastings, NOWFE will provide a $250 stipend (paid out after the event).

Grand Tasting Guidelines:
  • Grand Tasting dish(es) must be stated on the registration form.
  • A 6-foot skirted table, a back 6-foot table, signage, plates, bowls, cutlery and napkins will be provided
  • Restaurants are responsible for an additional table decor, serving pieces and equipment
  • No charcoal, wood or propane grilling. WE DO NOT PROVIDE KITCHEN FACILITIES, EQUIPMENT, OR ELECTRICAL. If you need electrical, there will be a charge. If doing any cooking, a fire extinguisher is REQUIRED
  • 875 sample size tasting portions (2oz.) are recommended for each Grand Tasting. Servings are expected to last the entire three (3) hours.
  • Up to 3 uniformed staff members per table are allowed (required to provide a list of onsite staff by March 29th to event coordinator).
  • Logistical information will be sent 1 week in advance.
  • Retail sales are prohibited. 
  • Promotional materials and decorating your area are encouraged!
  • Restaurant registration deadline is Monday, February 18, 2019.

Grand Tasting Culinary Awards Guidelines:

$2,000 Grand Prize Package:
$1,000 to Best of Show Savory Winner 
$1,000 to Best of Sweet Winner 
  • The deadline for recipe submission closes Wednesday, February 13, 2019.
  • Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals will be awarded in each category. A Best of Show medal will also be awarded.
  • The dish that is submitted for Judging must be the dish served at the Grand Tasting.
  • The competition will be held the week of February 18-22 at the individual restaurants, by appointment.
  • Winning recipes will receive media attention and will be listed on the NOWFE website.
  • Judges include local and regional radio, print and television media.
