Using a variety of interactive experiences such as panels, breakout sessions, best-practice sharing and hands-on demonstrations, this pre-conference will focus on enriching the employee experience to develop productive and committed contributors to your organization's mission. Come join your peers in focused discussion and to share your own thoughts and ideas, works-in-progress, and finished products with your colleagues in the faith-based, nonprofit, social service field. The hottest buzzwords in communications are, dare we say it, “storytelling” and “social media.” Gordon Mayer of Chicago’s Community Media Workshop presents lessons learned on both and, more importantly, how to integrate storytelling and narrative to engage audiences with innovative Web 2.0 platforms and tools. This session will explore how communications strategy and social media are a natural fit—all the old rules we already know about goal, audience, and message not only still apply online, they actually work even better in a Web 2.0 world than in the good old days (aka last year). The LSA Disability Network (LSA-DN) Open Forum will featuer speakers who are leaders in the Adminsitration on Medicaid and other issues that are critcal for people with disabilities. Access to these leaders provides an important opportunity to learn about critical public policy priorities.
