All conference attendees are encouraged to reserve sleeping accommodations at the Washington Marriott at Metro Center. Consistent with current hotel industry practices, the  Washington Marriott at Metro Center  requires that NAVREF attendees fill a minimum number of rooms each night.  If the number of rooms used falls below the minimum, NAVREF will incur substantial penalties and charges for meeting space in the hotel. Please help by planning to stay at the Washington Marriott at Metro Center and by identifying yourself as an attendee at the NAVREF 2010 Annual Conference when making your reservation.

 

Room Rate: Accommodations may be reserved at the special NAVREF rate of $209.00 single or double plus 14.50% tax ($30.31) for a total of $239.31. This room rate is significantly lower than the government per diem rate of $229.00 plus tax.

Cut-Off Date: To receive the special NAVREF rate, you must make your reservation on or before September 17, 2010.  Rooms will be available on a first come, first served basis until September 17 or the room block is filled, whichever comes first.  Fall is a very busy time in Washington, DC, and many hotels will be completely sold out.  Please make your hotel reservations now.


Extended Stays: The NAVREF room block extends from Saturday, October 16, through departures on Wednesday, October 20. For anyone who wishes to spend extra time in Washington, DC, the same rate is available on a space available basis three days before and after our room block dates.

Cancellation Policy:  Reservations must be cancelled by 6:00 p.m. on the day of arrival to avoid paying a cancellation fee of one night's room and tax.


Airports:  Downtown Washington, DC is accessible from three airports.

  • Reagan National Airport (DCA) is approximately 4 miles away. 
  • Dulles International Airport (IAD) is approximately 25 miles away.
  • Baltimore Washington International Airport (BWI) is approximately 40 miles away.

Ground Transportation and Driving Directions:


From Reagan National Airport (DCA)

The Washington Marriott at Metro Center is located in Washington, DC, about 10-15 minutes by cab from Reagan National Airport in non-rush hour traffic.  The fare will be approximately $15.00.  Upon arriving at the airport, follow the signs to ground transportation on the lower level. 


SuperShuttle (blue vans) service is available to the hotel from Reagan National Airport.  Upon arriving at the airport, claim your luggage and proceed to the nearest SuperShuttle ticket counter.  Reservations are not required for service from the airport to the hotel.  Reservations are required, however, when returning to the airport.  Call 1-800-258-3826 to make your reservation (24 hour advance notice required).  Cost is $10.00 one way.


Alternatively, use Metro, Washington’s subway system.  The upper level of the Reagan National Airport main terminal provides direct access to the airport Metro station.  Take Metro (Blue Line) from the airport to the Metro Center station.  The fare will be around $2.00.  Take the 12th and G Street exit out of the Metro station.


From Dulles International Airport (IAD)

Cab service to the Washington Marriott at Metro Center is available by following signs to ground transportation on the lower level.  The hotel is a 40-50 minute cab ride from Dulles Airport in non-rush hour traffic.  The fare will be approximately $65.00 in non-rush hour traffic.


SuperShuttle (blue vans) service is available to the hotel.  Upon arriving at the airport, claim your luggage and proceed to the nearest SuperShuttle ticket counter.  Reservations are not required for service from the airport to the hotel.  Reservations are required, however, when returning to the airport.  Call 1-800-258-3826 to make your reservation (24 hour advance notice required).  Cost is $37.00 one way.  


From Baltimore Washington International Airport (BWI)

Cab Service to the Washington Marriott at Metro Center is available on the lower level near each exit.  The hotel is a 50-60 minute cab ride from the airport in non-rush hour traffic.  The fare will be approximately $75 in non-rush hour traffic.


SuperShuttle (blue van) service is available to the hotel.  Upon arriving at the airport, claim your luggage and proceed to the nearest SuperShuttle ticket counter.  Reservations are not required for service from the airport to the hotel.  Reservations are required, however, when returning to the airport.  Call 1-800-258-3826 to make your reservation (24 hour advance notice required).  Flat rate per person, regardless of alone or with group, is $39.00 one way.

Taking Metro to the Washington Marriott at Metro Center
Take the Red, Orange, or Blue Line to Metro Center.  Take the 12th and G Street exit.  Walk approximately 1/2 block north on 12th Street.  Hotel will be on  your right.  Or, take the Yellow or Green Line to Gallery Place-Chinatown station.  Take the G Street exit and walk 5 blocks, then turn right onto 12th Street, NW.  The Washington Marriott at Metro Center will be on the right .


Parking:  Parking is available by valet only at the Washington Marriott at Metro Center.  The rate for daily valet parking is $35.

    Refund and Cancellation policy: 
    For registrants who cancel on or before Friday, September 17, 2010, NAVREF will issue a refund check for the registration fee minus a $100 service charge.  Cancellations received after September 17 will not be eligible for a refund.  No-shows will not be refunded
