Quantico, VA
Wednesday, May 02, 2012

UNIFORM / ATTIRE
The uniform of the day for Marines during the Emerald Express Symposium is Desert MARPAT (utilities) / Equivalent for other services. Casual business attire for civilians.

LUNCH
Refreshments will be provided in the morning and during breaks.  Boxed lunches are available at a minimal cost for participants. There will be a page during the registration process for you to choose your sandwich type and pre-pay with a credit card for the meal.  Due to the location of the conference and the service capacity of the town of Quantico, we highly recommend this option.  ***Please note:  no refunds for lunches will be issued for cancellations made less than 72 hours before the event.***

GETTING THERE
Base Access
Military and DOD personnel need their DOD identification to enter the base. Civilians must show a driver's license or other government-issued identification.  Drivers may be asked to show vehicle registration and proof of insurance.

Driving
Quantico is about 45 minutes – 1 hour south of Washington, DC, and 25 minutes north of Fredericksburg.  From the NORTH, Take I-95 south to exit 150A (Triangle/Dumfries).  This will lead you to the front gate.  An Iwo Jima statue will be on your right at this intersection.

Pass through the gate and follow Fuller Road for approximately 3 miles. (Quantico strictly enforces the speed limits.) Bear right. Fuller Road becomes Barnett Avenue. Turn left at the second traffic light onto Martin Avenue. Turn right at the stop sign onto Broadway Street. The Alfred M. Gray Research Center is located just ahead on the left. Parking is available in the lot in front of the building.

Trains
Quantico is home to an Amtrak station, and is also a stop on the Virginia Railway Express (VRE). Amtrak is the only option for those coming from the north, though the timetables can be somewhat limited.  Schedules can be found at www.amtrak.com. From the south, the VRE is a good option.  The schedule can be found at their website, www.vre.org. The Gray Research Center is a 5-10 minute walk from the station.  Walk directly away from the train until you reach Broadway Street.  Make a right and continue until you see the Gray Research Center on your left.
