Welcome to the Urban Minority Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Outreach Programs (UMADAOPs) of Ohio's 24th Annual State Conference from August 20 to 23, 2013 at the Holiday Inn North in Cincinnati, Ohio.  The organization was founded in 1980 by legislation spearheaded by then State Representative William L. Mallory, Sr. and has offices in twelve major urban areas throughout the state.  UMADAOP’s of Ohio has grown to become one of the nation’s premier organizations in providing services to African Americans and Latinos and other disproportionately affected populations.  For 24 years now, the State Conference has served as a forum to showcase and share state-of-the-art prevention, treatment and recovery policies, practices, and strategies.

This year’s conference theme is “Providing Culturally Relevant and Responsive Services in a Transforming Behavioral Health System.” The services we deliver are the most broadly effective at enhancing the prevention, treatment, and recovery efforts of those we serve.  This forum will greatly improve the skills of service providers and community-based activists from around the state to deliver these much needed services.
