CPSD (Certified Professional in Supplier Diversity) Certification Exam Testing  (details)

Becoming a Certified Professional in Supplier Diversity™ (CPSD™) allows you to create high-impact supplier diversity outcomes.  Designed for professionals tasked with creating diverse supplier initiatives as well as strategic diversity initiatives, the CPSD™ Certification gives you exemplary skills and recognition as an expert in supplier diversity as well as deepen your knowledge in all aspects of supply management.  The CPSD is a professional designation offered by the Institute for Supply Management (ISM). 

Who should take the exam at the conference?

  • Professionals who have begun the test prep process prior to the conference using official ISM CPSD Certification Test Exam Prep Study Materials.
  • Professionals pursuing the CPSD Certification.
  • Professionals pursuing the CPSM Certification and are ready to take the first exam, CPSM Exam 1.

When and where will the exams be held?

  • When: Wednesday, September 7.
  • Where:  All exams will be held at The M Resort, 12300 S. Las Vegas Blvd, Henderson, NV 89044. The CPSD Exam 1 will be held in Messina 1 and the CPSD Exam 2 will be held in the Messina 2 Room.  Note: Professionals pursuing their CPSM designation, can also take the CPSM Exam 1 at the conference.  This exam will also be held in Messina 1 Room
  • Time:  Registration for all exams will be from 7:00-7:45am.  All exams will start promptly at 8am. End times vary depending on which exam you will be taking.

How much does each exam cost?

  • ISM is excited to offer a discounted fee of US $159 for each exam for all Wbec-West conference attendees.  This is a $40 discount off the member price (a 20% discount for all conference attendees)

Platinum Supplier Showcase Prep  (details)

Platinum Supplier Vendor Showcase

WBEC-West certified WBEs who have completed the Platinum Supplier Program in 2016 will have the opportunity to conduct a 90 second presentation for an audience comprised of corporate procurement agents from a variety of corporations sourcing for various commodities.

The 90 second time slot will allow you to present your company’s services. The Platinum Supplier Program has provided you the knowledge and tools to develop a strong presentation. WBEs will also be able to receive valuable feedback from procurement agents regarding the presentation.

Due to overwhelming demand for this program, WBEC-West is only able to guarantee spots for WBEs who completed the program in 2016. If you completed the program in a previous year, you can still register to be considered, but it will not be guaranteed.

Round Table Business Connections  (details)

Round Table Business Connections provides the opportunity for certified WBEs to connect with corporations and other WBEs in a round table group discussion. There will be a corporate/prime host of the table, who will connect with each WBE as well as provide an opportunity for WBEs to ask questions and interact. Participating corporations will be announced at a later date. This event is open to WBENC certified WBEs only.

The purpose of having this style of networking on the front end of the 13th Annual Strategic Procurement Conference is for WBEs to get to know each other and begin a conversation and/or relationship that can be developed over the next two days of the conference.

  • 15 minute round-robin style meetings.
  • Fewer than 8 Suppliers (certified WBEs) to 1-2 Corporate Representative(s).
  • Each supplier (certified WBE) will have 1 minute to present their company to the table while the remaining time of the session will be utilized by the corporation to field/ask questions.
  • The round-robin meetings will end promptly at the 15 minute mark and WBEs will move to a new table.
  • WBEs are able to participate in 3 rotations.
  • Each WBE will be able to meet with 3 corporations.
  • Please respect the corporations who will be facilitating the meetings and the time of your fellow WBEs in the meeting.
  • Suppliers (WBEs) will be able to move around the room freely. Please be patient and selective with the participating corporations.

Next Level Matchmaking - Buyer Connection  (details)

WBEC-West has partnered with MGM Resorts new construction group and has invited contract managers/buyers to meet one-on-one with our certified WBEs for a high valued 15 minute capabilities presentation. Next Level Matchmaking is industry specific, so do not encourage individuals not providing construction services to register.

In order to register to participate, attendees must be registered for the conference and successfully registered for the event on WBEC-West’s matchmaker site no later than August 19, 2016. Meetings are not guaranteed and will be emailed out after September 1, 2016.

Matchmaker Madness  (details)

The Matchmaker Madness is set for Friday, September 9, 2016 at the 13th Annual WBEC-West Conference in Henderson, NV. Matchmaker Madness is designed to help connect certified WBENC WBE and certified NMSDC MBE companies with corporations. The system matches corporations with WBEs based on current and/or upcoming procurement opportunities. These meetings offer the opportunity for WBEs to make an introduction to the corporations and begin developing a relationship. The meetings are 10 minutes for each pre-scheduled corporate Matchmaker.

Matchmaker Madness meetings are not guaranteed and a certified WBE must be registered for the conference to be considered for a match. The deadline to register for the Matchmaker Madness meeting is August 19, 2016 at 11:59 PM. WBEs who successfully complete the Matchmaker Madness registration will be notified by September 1, 2016 by email with a schedule. There are many other opportunities to connect with corporations (i.e.; Round-table Business). Please visit Participating Corporations for a list of attending corporations.

The Women’s Business Enterprise Council (WBEC-West) is seeking auction & raffle items for our 13th Annual WBEC-West Strategic Procurement Opportunity Conference, September 7-9, 2016 at The M Resort in Henderson, NV. Last year, we had more than 350 women and over 75 corporate attendees at this prestigious event and we look forward to even more this year. Our annual event provides Women Business Enterprises (WBEs) and other small business owners the opportunity to attend educational workshops designed to help grow their business, matchmakers with our corporate partners and networking opportunities with conference participants.

Donating an item is a great way to gain recognition and exposure for your company to your target audience. It also guarantees exposure to hundreds of businesses and may be tax deductible. The visibility opportunities for your business include, your company name listed on the event website, in the online program, in the auction-blasts as well as any pre-event auction advertising and on the bid cards at the event. We need your help to make this year a success.

Proceeds from the auction help to provide further business opportunities for women owned businesses through education, training and services. We greatly appreciate your support in making these efforts successful. To ensure that the auction achieves it goals, WBEC-West is looking for items that generate excitement, great interest and great bids.  The best items to donate are items that you would be excited to bid on yourself. 
Items that have been successful are:

WBEC-West has established these simple rules to help meet our goals:
  • There is a minimum value of $25 for any gift cards submitted
  • Physical items must be shippable. Please provide the tracking information for items that you have shipped to us.
  • Contributions for consulting or other services cannot be accepted.
  • Discount certificates, which require an initial purchase of a certain amount, will not be accepted.
  • WBEC-West reserves the right to create packages by combining donated items for either the auction or the raffle.
Our deadline for your auction item descriptions is no later than August 12, 2016 by 4 p.m. to be included in the auction pamphlet.  Physical auction items and description along with the value of each item must be received no later than August 25, 2016.
