Course Descriptions

Our training program for this event includes a comprehensive list of Continuous Learning Point (CLP)-certified courses and is specifically tailored to meet the mission needs of the federal acquisition workforce. All courses will be presented by federal program experts in their respective fields. Advance registration will assist our planning efforts by identifying popular topics that we can offer more than once during the course of the two day event. The GSA Federal Acquisition Training Symposium offers excellent opportunities for developing your acquisition knowledge while meeting your annual continuing-education requirements under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) and the Office of Federal Procurement Policy (OFPP) Act, Federal Acquisition Certification in Contracting (FAC-C).

Training will be organized across five 'tracks':

    • Career Topics
    • Fleet Topics

Examples of topics that will be covered in the courses include:
  • How to tap the benefits of the new GSA Reverse Auctions eTool;
  • How to develop effective requirements documents;
  • What you need to know to utilize GSA's premier enterprise GWAC: Alliant;
  • How the Acquisition Gateway can help you connect with peers and experts to help you do your job better?;
  • Tips for successfully navigating the complex world of professional services (such as those offered via the Professional Services Schedule and OASIS);
  • An update on several of the transformational changes that are taking place within the GSA Multiple Award Schedule Program;
  • How to tap additional acquisition support to help your organization 'make it happen';
  • Industry topics of interest such as: how to market to the federal government, how to prepare for an IOA visit, important updates to the federal Integrated Award Environment (IAE),
  • And more!

Training begins on Tuesday, April 25, 2017, and continues through the afternoon of Wednesday, April 26, 2017.
