Dr. Cook is a psychologist who has used and studied motivational interviewing extensively, in designing telehealth disease management interventions and developing counseling techniques for healthcare professionals. He has taught extensively on the topic to groups from various specialty practices.

Laurra is an educator and counselor with experience in clinical treatment for mental health, educational psychology, marriage family therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing and caring science.  In her current role at the College of Nursing, she is an instructor with emphasis in screening, brief Intervention and referral to treatment (SBIRT), Interprofessional education for the care and treatment of HIV/AIDS, mental health, communications and motivational interviewing. Laurra designs simulation labs with use of standardized patients for the college of Nursing and specialty trainings for other health professionals on the medical campus.
