The class will begin with simple in circuit examples of reading EEPROMs. It will then move on to removing EEPROMs from the circuit, reading them with multiple pieces of equipment and then modifying the data. The latest available equipment will be used to produce a transponder that will ultimately be able to start vehicles including water recreational vehicles and motorcycles. With the manufacturers increasing security and the increase in diagnostic equipment costs and fees to use said equipment, EEPROM work may be the last hope to produce keys for cars in the future.

This class is designed for the locksmith who turns down safe service calls. The major learning objective is to add the very profitable specialty of professional safe servicing to the full service locksmith’s offerings and to build the locksmith’s confidence and ability. Many safe lockout service calls (perhaps half) simply require the correct dialing sequence and as many as 90% do not require container penetration. A book covering these procedures will be provided to each student. The class will cover terminology, identification, combination changing, dialing diagnostics and opening procedures such as manipulation, drilling, change keyhole scoping, etc. This class is not designed for the expert safe technician nor will it make you an expert. It will enable you to start learning and to begin earning money immediately doing safe work. It will help you recognize your limitations, so you will feel confident with the work that you do and the work that you refer.

The student will learn what technical information and tools are available and you will be able to make an informed decision as to what tools to add to your arsenal and in what order. The student will learn about professional organizations for and how to network with, other safe technicians. The student will learn how to secure GSA container work and how to access the hot line, provided free to the locksmith by the US Government.

Students will learn the basic terminology, skills, proper application of tools and other critical information necessary for the practice of professional and profitable motorcycle lock service. During the clinics students will disassemble, examine and reassemble: motorcycle ignition, tank, fork, helmet and compartment locks of many types and designs, and check each others work upon completion of each task. During the lectures, students will become familiar with the various manufacturers products and key systems, review the various methods of key generation and based on the various circumstances presented to them by the instructor, determine the fastest and most practical method of key generation and execute the method. Most of the major cycle manufacturers’ more prevalent lock systems will be covered. Students wishing to more fully participate will bring a laptop with a motorcycle key code database installed, a selection of bench tools and lock picks, a clamp-on vise, and motorcycle locks that may have been a challenge to them in the past.

This class is designed with the beginner in mind and will cover basic manual keypad programming of the Alarm Lock T2/T3 Trilogy models. Commands covered will be: how to add/delete users, put in passage mode, setup time zones, run audit trails, etc. This class will provide an overview of DL Windows Software, including setting up a system with users, time zones, schedules, and running an audit trail for the Trilogy products.

Attendee Requirements: Mandatory student bring their laptops to class, we will load software and you will follow along for step by step programming instructions. This class will be limited to 30 students. The student’s laptops MUST be fully updated with all current Microsoft Windows OS and security updates prior to coming to the class. The student must also have Administrative Rights to add software.

This course is in reality two courses for the price of one! Participants will be shown various Tips and Tricks that will most certainly be of interest to the automotive locksmith.

The second portion of the class will explore the world of EEPROMs which are the program storage devices housed within modern automotive immobilizer modules. The data within the EEPROM can be used to generate lost key transponders. Transponders are currently used in automotive, recreational vehicles, water craft, and motorcycles. This course will also explain the various pieces of equipment necessary to generate transponders using EEPROM techniques.

Upon completion of this course the participants will have a better understanding of how to work with various automotive locking systems and how to generate transponder and high security keys. This class will instill confidence in the student’s ability to continue profiting with key generation and with the selection of contemporary automotive key generation and programming equipment.

Yes, the code services are great when they are available, but knowing how to make the keys almost as fast as they can reply is the best and knowledge is power. The instructor generates from scratch 99.5% of all the keys he makes so he will be sharing his knowledge of tool and tips on how to make these keys all the time. In the afternoon session locks and tools will be provided to practice the methods taught. In addition there will be a discussion on repairing the most common auto lock failures.

“Principles of Safe Manipulation” - MANIPULATION is the art of opening combination locks, without prior knowledge or information as to the present combination, does not require the use of force or tools, does not cause damage to any part or component, and leaves no evidence of entry. Each student will learn when to manipulate and will understand how picking, reading and impressioning are related to safe manipulation. The class will cover proper combination lock terminology. The student will become competent in dialing diagnostics and visualization of the internal workings of a combination lock. Students will understand the principles of manipulation, become familiar with manipulation aids and gain confidence in manipulation.
