Ryan Eavy, Executive Director, Enterprise Architecture, CME Group
Ryan Eavy leads the Emerging Technology function as part of the Enterprise Architecture team at the CME Group. He is responsible for ensuring the company's technology is aligned with the business strategy through application research and development, technical solution assessment and systems roadmap definition. Among Ryan’s accomplishments, he has recently led the design and implementation of the Exchange’s ultra-low-latency middleware strategy and common abstract middleware layer. Prior to his current role, he served as a Senior Application and Security Architect for the CBOT. Before joining the CBOT in 2003, Eavy worked as a Sr. Applications Developer at Quotes Plus as well as a Sr. Applications Engineer at Dewpoint. Eavy earned a B.S. degree in computer science from the University of Michigan and is currently pursuing his M.S. in Computational Finance from DePaul University.
Jeff Gomberg, Lead Algo Trader - HTG Capital
For the past 8 years, Jeff has been designing automated trading strategies. He runs a trading group within HTG Capital Partners, LLC, managing all aspects of a high frequency futures trade from top to bottom. Prior to starting this group, Jeff was a managing partner at EV Financial Systems, LLC where he designed, managed, and ran a high frequency FX basis trade. Jeff got his start in the industry at DRW Trading Group, Chicago Trading Company, and Allston Trading, LLC after graduating from the University of Illinois at Urbana / Champaign with a Masters and Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering, earning magna cum laude honors.

Matt Haraburda is the President of XR Trading LLC (formally Rho Trading Securities, LLC) and is responsible for the strategic management and direction of the firm. Prior to being named President, Matt served as the Head of Operations for Rho Trading Securities LLC., managing business development and directing strategic projects. Matt has more than 17 years of experience in the trading industry. Prior to joining XR, he served as Head of Technology at US Futures Exchange (formally Eurex US) and has held various positions with Eurex, Deutsche Boerse Systems and The Chicago Board of Trade. Matt graduated from DePaul University with a Bachelor of Science degree from the College of Commerce.
John Howard, CEO & Publisher - Automated Trader Magazine
John's financial market career started in 1988. His early career background included both market data and technical analysis with an eleven year stint working for CQG. Since 2004, John has run a systematic trading consultancy helping proprietary traders and asset managers at leading banks and hedge funds to refine their trading ideas, automate discretionary trading concepts, build successful model portfolios and smooth equity curve volatility. His firm was accredited as an approved vendor for ICAP's Spot Ai trading platform, and also managed the systematic trading initiative for a leading FX broker. In 2008 John acquired a majority shareholding in Automated Trader Magazine in the process taking on the role of CEO and Publisher. Automated Trader was the first magazine to have an automated and algorithmic trading focus and is now read by over 20,000 market participants globally.
Sameer Kulkarni, Senior Algo Developer - Ketchum Trading
A penchant for facilitating new product ideas in startups, Sameer jump-started the Electronic Options Market Making Desk at Endeavor with his proprietary high-frequency algorithmic trading platform based on CUDA and SOA. He builds on this success at Ketchum Trading, LLC. Sameer ventured into the financial industry in 2007 as CTO for Need-To-Know-News, leading the development of products which disseminate real-time Economic indicators as news. Earlier in his career he championed an award-winning mobile push-to-talk application at Clarity Communications, Inc., working with Lockheed Martin and was also on the technical staff at Lucent Technologies. He has over 17 years of leadership in architecting/leading CDMA Wireless server-farms and mobile client-server applications, and he continues his telecommunications' expertise in high-frequency algorithmic trading. Sameer has B.S. in Computer Science Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Varanasi, India.
Mike Madigan, CTO - WH Trading, LLC
With over 30 year of engineering, software development, and systems architecture experience, Mike has been a key technical leader in helping WH Trading grow from a Chicago floor market making operation to a leading proprietary global electronic trading firm. As CTO of WH Trading, Mike has been involved in all technical aspects of the firm’s growth from software development and architecture to systems and network design. Before WH Trading, Mike worked at a number of other Chicago proprietary trading firms in both systems and software development rolls. His first job was at Northrup Defense Systems Division where he developed real-time software for testing avionics equipment, wrote finite element programs to model high voltage transformers, and also wrote Fourier Series analysis software to model circuit components. Mike graduated with a B.S. in Physics from Illinois State University and a M.S. in Physics from Illinois Institute of Technology.

Scott is the Head of Quantitative Research at Ronin Capital, LLC. The QR team develops quantitative trading solutions for a wide range of asset classes. Before joining Ronin, Scott ran his own consulting operation and has held leadership, automated trading and research positions at the Boston Options Exchange (BOX), Goldman Sachs and Hull Trading Company. He is a graduate of the University of Chicago, earning an AB degree in Economics and an MBA in Finance and Statistics. He has spoken at numerous educational and industry events. As Vice President of Software Engineering, Shyam is instrumental in developing a clear and focused vision for Azul’s software efforts .Prior to co-founding Azul Systems, Shyam was Vice President of Software Engineering for the IP Services business unit at Nortel Networks, having joined Nortel through their acquisition of Shasta Networks. At Shasta Networks, Shyam led the software development organization, from inception to product delivery, for the Shasta Broadband IP Services Platform. Shyam was also Director of Software Engineering at ZeitNet/Cabletron and has held management and engineering positions at Hewlett Packard. Shyam holds a MSCS degree from Stanford University and a bachelor’s degree from IIT, Madras, India. He has been granted four patents in high performance computing and communications.

Kevin Reeves is a professional independent consultant operating out of Chicago, IL as a Quantitative Developer and Senior Software Engineer. Shontz and his team are responsible for managing the programs, relationships and connectivity for Third Party Channel Partners (ISVs), Market Data Distributors and Managed Service Providers) connecting to CME Group platforms such as CME Globex and CME ClearPort. The team’s primary responsibilities include managing new functionality adoption by system providers; maintaining the feedback loop for new technology enhancements; relationship management; co-marketing and joint business development for third party providers and front-end strategy for the exchange. Shontz is also the business owner for CME Group EOS Trader, the options front-end trading application distributed by the exchange. Alan has been with CME Group since April 2002 and has been working in the futures & securities industry since 1983 with experience at a variety of companies from FCMs to ISVs to market data technology providers. He currently serves on the FIA IT Division Board.
Sanjay Tolia, Managing Partner - Bengal Capital
Sanjay has over 11 years of experience in the listed option space as a trader and entrepreneur. He is currently the managing partner and founder of Bengal Capital. A programming career highlight was creating the OptionsCity flagship product, Metro, in just one year. A regular speaker at the JavaOne conference, Victor’s technology-rich background includes development in Java and C++. He was formerly the Associate Director of the software department at Chicago Trading Company (CTC) where he led a team of developers and implemented back-end solutions and exchange connectivity to exchanges such as the CBOE, ISE, and EUREX. Prior to that, Victor held senior development positions at major telecommunications companies, including Tellabs and ComEd. He holds a B.S. in Computer Engineering and an M.S. in Computer Science from the Illinois Institute of Technology.

Freddy has been in the software development industry for more than 12 years. He has been programming since age 7 and booked his first consulting gig at age 15. He currently serves as Director of Client Technology for OptionsCity Software, Inc. He is the host of JavaPubHouse.com, a podcast dedicated to Java, is the co-author of a new book titled Java 7 Recipes: A Problem-Solution Approach, and is the talent behind Lambda Expression, a nerdcore/nerdrock band that performs songs about software development. Freddy has presented at the JavaOne conference for the past three years. He is also a contributor to IBM developerWorks. Benjamin holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Minnesota State University, Mankato.
