PARKING

PARKING AROUND CAMPUS AND KENILWORTH SQUARE EAST

PARKING RECOMMENDATIONS

For stress-free parking, we recommend you choose from the following options:

OPTION #1:     If you plan to attend the conference activities from Friday, March 14 through the rest of the conference: Pre-order a parking pass for $32/vehicle.  This will enable you to park in the PAVILION Parking structure for the duration of the conference (March 14-18, 2014), with in and out privileges. PRE-ORDER IS NECESSARY for this option.

OPTION #2:     If you have a 15-passenger van, it DOES NOT fit in any parking structure on campus or at Kenilworth (SEE BELOW).  Pre-ordered parking passes are available for a flat rate of $32/15-passenger van, and special surface lot parking will be made available for those bringing 15-passenger vans.  PRE-ORDER IS NECESSARY for this option.

FOR PARKING PASS REQUEST FORM CLICK
HERE

OPTION #3:     If you plan to attend conference activities from Saturday, March 15 through the rest of the conference, plan to park in the Student Union Parking structure.  (SEE BELOW).   This will cost you $30/vehicle minimum for the duration of the conference (March 15-18), with NO in and out privileges. NO PRE-ORDER PARKING PASS NECESSARY.

OPTION #4:     Come prepared to pay a lot for parking, not to mention hunting for a spot!

PLEASE NOTE: If you choose Option #1 or Option #2, you MUST pre-order your parking pass(es) in advance by the posted deadline.

METERED STREET PARKING

Parking on and around the UWM campus and Kenilworth Square East is at a premium.  All street meters are controlled and strictly enforced by the City of Milwaukee.  These street parking meters have pay stations, centralized multi-space meters.  They have time restrictions that preclude parking for any lengthy period of time. THEY WILL TICKET YOU!  It is very important that you take notice of the information on the sign in front of the space in which you park including space number, time restrictions (if applicable), and payment instructions.  You will be running and plugging your meter every hour.  They take credit cards and cash.  RATE: $1/hour, with limited length of time.

NEIGHBORHOOD STREET PARKING

As UWM is in the middle of a residential area, most street parking on side streets that are not metered prohibit parking without a residential permit.  Again, this is controlled and enforced by the City of Milwaukee, and we recommend you do not attempt to park on any side streets that do not have meters.

PARKING AT KENILWORTH SQUARE EAST

There is limited (1st come, 1st served) pay station parking in the parking structure adjacent to Kenilworth Square East.  You must pre-pay at the pay station. Rate: $.85/hour.  You may plan to park at the parking meters on the surface streets adjacent to the building.  There are also city surface parking lots in the area.  Rates vary.  NOTE: 15-passenger vans DO NOT fit in the Kenilworth Square East parking structure.

PARKING ON CAMPUS

Parking is prepaid across campus except in the Student Union Parking structure.  Parking fees are enforced Monday-Saturday 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.  MANY on-campus parking lots are NOT open to public parking!  It is very important that you take notice of the information on the sign in front of the space in which you park including space number, time restrictions (if applicable), and payment instructions.

STUDENT UNION PARKING STRUCTURE

The most convenient parking on campus for visitors is the centrally located Student Union Parking structure.  Enter the Union garage from E Kenwood Blvd. This is a cashiered parking structure - that is, you pay as you exit for the time you are parked. Credit cards and cash are acceptable forms of payment. RATES: Sa: $6 flat fee/all day; Su: FREE; M-F: $1.25/hour; $12/day maximum.
