Bob Meara, Senior Analyst

Bob Meara is a senior analyst in Celent's banking group. Mr. Meara’s research focuses on the branch and ATM delivery channels, customer analytics and check and cash payment processing technologies. A well known authority on remote deposit capture, Mr. Meara has led multiple consulting engagements including several proprietary research projects involving financial services hardware, software and the impact of self-service on branch banking.

Before joining Celent, Mr. Meara was the director of product marketing at Alogent. In this role, he positioned and launched a series of Check 21 payments solutions. Prior to Alogent, Mr. Meara has also held positions in marketing and brand management at Stonebridge Technologies, Telemate.net Software, BellSouth, Hayes Corporation, and Procter & Gamble in addition to being a commissioned naval officer. Mr. Meara earned a B.S. in Applied Physics and Electrical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University.


Jeff Schiele, AVP Retail Payments
Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta

Jeffrey Schiele is an assistant vice president in the Federal Reserve’s Retail Payments Office (RPO), located at the Atlanta Fed.. The Retail Payments Office has responsibility for fostering the integrity, efficiency, and accessibility of U.S. retail payment and settlement systems in support of financial stability and economic growth.  In his role, Mr. Schiele focuses on payment strategy and improvement of the United States payment system, including opportunities to enhance the speed and security of payments and improve global interoperability.

Mr. Schiele has extensive experience in electronic payments, product management, customer relations, contract management, and business continuity.  He has previously held management responsibilities for numerous Federal Reserve business lines including the automated clearinghouse (FedACH®), Check21 image exchange, FedLine® transaction and reporting software, and various services to the U.S. Treasury.

Mr. Schiele is a thought leader in payments and payment system improvement and is involved with numerous Federal Reserve System and financial service industry initiatives. He earned a bachelor's degree in accounting and finance from Miami University in Ohio and completed the Executive Development Program at the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School.

Blake McDaniel
Federal Reserve 

Blake McDaniel is a Subject Matter Expert with the Retail Payments Office of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta.  He currently works on issues related to domestic and international payment systems, as well as regulatory compliance matters.  He joined the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta full time in 2011, after completing his JD/MBA at the University of Georgia.
