10th Summer Institute on Migration and Global Health

1. Graduate Student and PIMSA grantees Workshop Proposals
Workshop will be held all day on Thursday June 25th. Participants are encourage to attend the plenary presentations  and workshops of the Summer Institute, June 22-24.
(For University of California Students and PIMSA grantees ONLY)
The Research Training Workshop will feature presentations of ongoing or recently completed research relating to migration and health, undertaking by graduate students, recent postdocs, and junior faculty, through the UC system. UC faculty members will serve as discussants, providing expert feedback on the student's work and commenting on its relevance to their own research. The workshop organizing committee will seek publication of selected papers in a peer-reviewed journal.
Proposal Instructions:
The documents describing your research project should be between 2-4 pages long (excluding references), double-spaced and using 11 or 12 pt font size. The description should include the following elements:
  • Title
  • Rationale for the project
  • Research design, methods, and data sets
  • Principal findings
  • Significance of results, for the research field and public policy
  • References (selected)

Supporting Documents:
In addition to your proposal, please submit the following documents:

  • Your resume
  • Letter of support from your principal faculty mentor
  • Application for financial support, if needed, for University of California students only (financial aid application soon to come).

Selected applicants will need to submit a full manuscript prior to the workshop.

Deadline for proposal submissions is April 18, 2015.
