Gary Klein, President of Gary Klein & Associates has been intimately involved in energy efficiency and renewable energy since 1974. Mr. Klein has a passion for hot water: getting into it, getting out of it and efficiently delivering it to meet customer's needs. After serving 19 years with the California Energy Commission, he has provided consulting on sustainability since 2008, with an emphasis on the water-energy-carbon connection. Mr. Klein received a BA from Cornell University in 1975 with an Independent Major in Technology and Society with an emphasis on energy conservation and renewable energy.

 

Mary Ann Dickinson is the President and CEO of the Alliance for Water Efficiency, a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the efficient and sustainable use of water in the United States and Canada. Mary Ann has over 40 years of experience in water resources and water efficiency. A graduate of the University of Connecticut, Mary Ann currently serves as Chair of the Efficient Urban Water Management Specialist Group for the International Water Association, past Chair of the American Water Works Association National Water Conservation Division, past President of the California Irrigation Institute, past President of the Lake Arrowhead Community Services District, and serves on the boards of the Green Building Initiative, U.S. Water Alliance, Texas Water Foundation and River Network. 



Peter Yolles is Founder and Chief Policy Officer of WaterSmart Software. His career focus is driving the sustainable use of water resources. Peter believes that WaterSmart will transform the relationship between water utilities and consumers to educate, inform and encourage the efficient use of water in everyday lives.  His twenty years of experience include water conservation and efficiency, water rights and transfers, environmental regulation, finance, economics and policy. Prior to founding WaterSmart, he was the Principal of Water Insight, a water management consultancy. Peter has served as a Board director of the Scott River Water Trust since its inception, including four years as President. He earned his MBA in Finance from Yale School of Management and MES in Water Science, Management and Policy from Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies. He holds a BA in Political Science from the University of Colorado, Boulder.

 


Bill McDonnell is the Water Efficiency Manager for the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California. He has a BA from the University of Massachusetts and an MBA from University of La Verne. His team manages many conservation programs that are on pace to rebate over $100 million to commercial, industrial and residential customers this year. His team also manages the Innovative Conservation Program which provides approximately a half million dollars in grants for new conservation technologies. Mr. McDonnell brings more than 30 years of experience in water and energy efficiency program development and management to Metropolitan’s water and energy nexus portfolio. In addition, he has been a Public Works Commissioner in the City of Chino Hills for almost 20 years and is a member of the Board of Directors of the California Urban Water Conservation Council and the California Irrigation Institute.


Troy Sherman is a serial entrepreneur, product developer and the Director of Marketing and Product Management at Evolve Technologies.  As a company co-founder, he’s spent the past 10 years immersed in the issue of Behavioral Waste while developing technologies to simply and cost effectively mitigate it without requiring behavior changes on behalf of the user.  Troy has authored multiple white papers, conducted primary and secondary research and has been invited to present insights and perspectives to key water and energy efficiency constituencies including RESNET, Build It Green and ACEEE. As a result of his work, he has become and expert on Behavioral Waste and associated topics including, but not limited to bathing habits and efficient showerhead design. Evolve Technology's products are currently used as measures in the largest energy efficiency and weatherization programs throughout the United States.
