"All About the Base: Showcasing an Ever-Evolving Cocktail Culture & How to Ensure the Base Spirit Does Not Get Lost in the Build"
Speaker Beth Burrows

The high-end cocktail culture we encounter today seems to be a direct response to the simplistic era the 90’s Cocktail Culture embodied. We are probably in one of the most exciting and fulfilling times to be an imbiber. With fancy infusions and foreign liqueurs so plentiful and at our fingertips, it can be incredibly overwhelming when it comes to crafting a new cocktail. We are no longer living in a world where cocktails exist to cover a terrible base spirit. Our booze is impeccable, and our cocktails are just another way to showcase their versatility. This class will highlight the importance of picking the right base spirit and how to ensure that it does not get lost in the cocktail’s build.
