"Sensory Processing Disorder in Dentistry"

This program will give an overview of the seven sensory systems, an understanding of behaviors/symptoms related to sensory processing issues and explain how to incorporate this knowledge into the dental practice. She will discuss such things as environmental adaptations, sensory accommodations and intake questions. This program will enlighten us, as practitioners, on methods to better understand and deliver treatment to patients.

Susan Khammar OTR/L is a licensed occupational therapist. She owns and operates Cowtown Pediatrix Clinic, LLC, a pediatric occupational therapy clinic in Fort Worth, that specializes in treating sensory issues in the pediatric population. Sue has practiced Occupational Therapy since 1991 and has specialty training in Sensory Integration. She helps families get to the root cause of underlying developmental issues impacting their child’s performance at home and school through evaluation and treatment for general development, fine motor, bilateral motor coordination, sensory integration, self care and visual perceptual skills.
