KEYNOTE SPEAKER -Dr. Keith Folse:

Our Keynote Speaker is Keith Folse from the University of Central Florida (UCF), where he is currently Professor and Coordinator of the M.A. Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) program. He has been on the faculty at UCF since 2000. Dr. Folse received his Ph.D. in Second Language Acquisition and Instructional Technology from the University of South Florida. He earned an M.A. in TESOL from the University of Southern Mississippi. He has more than thirty years of teaching experience, including English as a Foreign Language (EFL) instruction in Saudi Arabia, Malaysia, Kuwait, and Japan.

Dr. Folse is active in materials development and has a passion for teaching. He has written more than 67 books. Some of his well-known publications such as Keys to Teaching Grammar to English Language Learners—now in its 2nd edition, The Art of Teaching Speaking, and Vocabulary Myths are used by educators around the world. He has published his research on language use and learning in TESOL Quarterly, CATESOL Journal, TESL Reporter, Language Teacher (JALT), Perspectives (TESOL Arabia), Sunshine State TESOL Journal, TESOL Matters, Nexus, and Modern English Teacher. His primary research interests include second language vocabulary acquisition and instruction and teacher training in grammar for English Learners. Dr. Folse is fluent in Spanish and French, enjoys traveling, and competes in tennis tournaments. He is a sought-after speaker both in the U.S. and abroad.
