We are happy to bring back the Pre-CLOWN CAMP week Intensives. Many Campers have requested that we provide more clown arts curriculum geared towards intermediate to advanced performers. We heard you, and are offering an opportunity to be totally immersed in a clown arts subject for a One Day Intensive. You do not have to be registered for CLOWN CAMP 2018 June 10-15 to attend a Intensive. We are offering two Intensives: LAUGHTER YOGA with Laura Gentry, and STORYTELLING with Sara Slayton (Storytelling with Voice) and Joe Dieffenbacher (Storytelling with Props).

Time: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM 
Location: Viterbo University Fine Arts Center La Crosse, WI

Live Life Laughingly

Amp up the joy in your life with Laughter Yoga. In this interactive workshop, you’ll learn the scientific-proven health benefits of laughter, the contagious-laughter principle of Laughter Yoga and experience the incredible delight it can bring. You’ll learn how how to not just live by thrive by using laughter as a personal wellness tool. Additionally, you’ll gain the skills to lead Laughter Yoga and integrate it creatively with your performance and in life. Best of all this workshop will give you the chance to laugh all day long and be renewed!

Laughing Laura is a Lutheran pastor and the founding director of the Iowa School of Laugher Yoga, which offers seminars, on-line courses. She is a Master Teacher of Laughter Yoga and was named a Laughter Ambassador by the international Laughter University in Bangalore, India. Laura has presented laughter and motivational programs on six continents and developed a number of resources including a book, a film and seven CDs.

Storytelling Through Voice 
The Basics of Telling A Good Story. This intensive will investigate what makes a good story to tell, sources for finding good stories (both written and oral), the best way to learn a new story, using one’s voice to enhance a story, and how to write an original and entertaining story.  This intensive is appropriate for anyone who wants to tell a compelling oral story; Clowns, Teachers, Librarians, Health professionals, people in the Ministry, Business and Organizational Leaders, Entertainers and Motivational Speakers.

Instructor: Joe Dieffenbacher (1:15 pm - 5:00 pm)

Storytelling with Props
How to Use Objects to Tell Stories. This Intensive will explore different ways of working with props: the prop as an animated partner, a puppet, a slapstick adversary, using the prop to help tell a story or to present a skill to aid storytelling. This Intensive is for Clowns, Comedians, Actors, Storytellers, Entertainers, Circus Artists, Improv Artists, Street Performers, Renaissance Festival Artists, Puppeteers, Teachers, anyone who works with family audiences (or adults who need to find their inner kid)
