GETTING AROUND THE CITY

This page includes information about travel, housing, local transportation, and Festival locations.

GETTING TO THE CITY

AIR:
Three airports serve the Washington, DC area:
  • Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI)
  • Dulles International Airport (IAD)
  • Reagan National Airport (DCA)
Reagan National Airport is only a few miles from the Kennedy Center and the hotels.  If at all possible, it is recommended to fly into National.

The Metro (Washington's subway system) goes to National Airport.  It is only six stops to the Foggy Bottom Metro Station for hotels, Kennedy Center and George Washington University.

TRAIN
Amtrak operates from Union Station.

BUS
Buses arrive and depart from downtown Washington.

CAR
Parking is expensive in downtown Washington.

HOTELS:

There are many hotel and housing options in Washington or in nearby Virginia.  If you want to discuss other options other than those listed below, please call the national office (301-670-2820).

ACDFA has secured block booking at three hotels within easy walking distance of the Kennedy Center, George Washington University, the Metro (subway system), Dupont Circle and Georgetown. All hotels are relatively small with considerable.

The great news is that prices at the same hotels we used for the 2006 National Festival are actually $20-$40 less expensive per night.

The following applies for all three hotels:

  • On-site restaurant (and hotel bar)

  • Complimentary high speed internet access

  • Parking:  $30/night.  (All hotels have small parking lots. One Washington Circle is advised for vans.)

  • 14.5% Washington, DC sales tax on rooms.

RESERVATIONS MUST BE MADE BY APRIL 24, 2010.

When making reservations, indicate that you are with ACDFA to get the reduced rates quoted below or use the code listed below for each hotel.
