EGAT/ED is happy to announce an additional event for USAID staff to precede the workshop:

Mobiles for Education for Development
(m4Ed4Dev)
Global ED Officer’s Workshop Pre-Symposium

August 18th and 19th, 2011
Washington, D.C.

USAID and several collaborating partners are catalyzing the formation of a new global alliance focused on the use of mobiles (e.g., applications, phones, e-readers, micro-projectors, etc.) for promoting quality education outcomes. On August 18th and 19th,  we will convene the first-ever Mobiles for Education for Development (m4Ed4Dev) symposium with multilateral, bilateral, NGO, government, and private sector representatives interested in this topic. The event will focus on highlighting current initiatives, identifying opportunities for international collaboration, and catalyzing research and scaling possibilities for promising practices, with particular reference to promoting early grade reading and assisting education programming in complex and challenging environments.

We would be delighted to have USAID field staff join us and proactively contribute to this event. Location (at a different hotel) and detailed information to follow.  Please note there is limited space for this event, so please check back for updates.
