TRAVEL INFORMATION

     By car:

Madison is located in south central Wisconsin and is accessible via several major highways.
  • 1 1/2-hour drive from Milwaukee (via Interstate 94)
  • 2 1/2-hour drive from Chicago (via Interstate 90)
  • 4 1/2-hour drive from Minneapolis/St. Paul (via Interstate 94)
  • 2-hour drive from Dubuque (via US 151)

     By bus:
  • Greyhound Bus Lines (800-231-2222) serves Madison.
  • Badger Coaches (608-255-6771) offers daily routes between Milwaukee (downtown and Mitchell Field) and campus. Badger Coaches also now makes trips from the UW–Madison campus to downtown Minneapolis. Many Greyhound and Badger buses stop at Memorial Union.
  • Van Galder Bus Company (608-752-5407 or 800-747-0994) provides daily round-trip service between Memorial Union and Chicago’s O’Hare Airport and downtown Amtrak station.
  • Jefferson Lines (888-864-2832) also serves Madison.
  
     By plane:

The Dane County Regional Airport (MSN) services the Madison area. The airport is approximately seven miles from the university campus. From the airport to the university, you may take a cab  for approximately $20 (always available) or the city bus for $2. (Route 20 serves the airport. You will need to transfer to another bus at the North Transfer Point to get to the UW-Madison campus: routes 2, 4, 27, 28, 56, or 57. Check the Metro Transit website for schedules. Request a free transfer ticket from the driver when boarding the first bus.)


   Local Transportation in Madison:

UW-Madison is a large and vibrant campus (see map). For your convenience, all of the conference festivities are centered near Lathrop Hall and in easy walking distance. If you'd like to explore campus, the university offers free bus service on routes 80, 81, 82, 84, 85. Metro Transit offers bus service throughout Madison, with numerous stops conveniently located throughout campus.



PARKING
The university's Visitor and Information Programs provides good information about parking on campus.
