The professional development residential retreats are for people who have completed at least one year of the MYL Choosing Peace Immersion Program, and who want to develop their skills offering the MYL maps formally or professionally helping people with conflict situations in their personal and work lives. The program consists of 2 retreats — Formal Mediation and Conflict Coaching. You can do one or both, depending on the area(s) of learning and application you want to develop, and you can take them in whichever order you wish.
The Formal Mediation retreat offers in-depth experiential training with the 5-step mediation map and 9 mediation skills. Practicing in triad role plays, you can dial up and down the difficulty/intensity level to customize your learning experience in a safe, supportive learning environment. To maximize your learning and growth, you can rotate through the roles of mediator and disputants, give and receive supportive peer feedback, and receive in-the-moment coaching. The retreat will also offer the Healing & Reconciliation map for mediating conflicts based in unresolved emotional hurt, as well as maps for pre- and post-mediation with clients and mediator self-care. In the evenings you will have the opportunity to watch longer demonstrations and engage in in-depth Q&A on process and working as a professional. You will do all of this in the richness, warmth, and deep connections of a supportive learning community, and in the natural beauty of this rustic setting.
