Indian Clubs—Beyond the Fundamentals.
Instructor: Phil Scarito, Master SFG, FMS, CICS
Day One: September 30th, 2017 9AM–5:00PM
Day Two: October 1st, 2017 9AM–5:00PM
Live practice, live cueing.
2 days of instruction; $499.00
This is your chance to get live, hands on experience with one of the oldest restorative tools in the world -- the Indian Club. If you have shoulder mobility issues, or restrictions in movement due to an injury or surgery, Indian Clubs will provide you with a way to explore different ranges of motion to help ultimately regain your Joint Integrity.
Revisit and refine the intricacies of movement prep, casting, inside out pattern, outside in pattern, single club, double clubs, etc.
Adding to the basics, in this 2-Day you will also learn four additional patterns.
Reciprocal instead of symmetrical in nature, these patterns will present you with a significant increase in skill, along with advanced neurological and movement benefits, including the ability to move the right and left arms independently of one another and in a reciprocal fashion, as opposed to what you will learn in just the basics course, which is moving clubs in the same pattern at the same time with both arms (revisited as well in this course).
Also considered 'brain training', the advanced practice in particular of club swinging/turning helps to strengthen the connection between movement in the right and left sides of the body. It awakens the brain and neural pathways, and in turn, the body becomes better able to absorb a higher level of movement quality—without a better way to say it, this neural awakening allows your body to upload more data, a higher quality input, with respect to all of the body's functional movement patterns.
An overwhelming majority of students experience immediate changes in shoulder function and feeling during the workshop. These immediate benefits are then maintained and improved with proper practice of the skills learned in this course.
In this advanced course, we will also introduce and explore different directional foot patterns while swinging clubs.
Live practice, live cueing.
WHO SHOULD ATTEND?
* Those recovering from shoulder surgery or who just have not been able to regain full range of motion in the shoulder post injury, or in aging, are excellent candidates for this course—in fact, ALL those seeking to regain shoulder mobility, as well as integrity of the shoulder and its function.
* This course is ideal for golfers, tennis players and those who coach golfers and tennis players.
* Weekend warriors of all types will be surprised at the ways in which the skills learned improve their part-time sport, both in practice and competition.
This course in an excellent complement to the 1-Day Fundamentals Course, however the 1-Day course is NOT a requirement to attend this 2-Day Course, and we will revisit the information from the 1-Day course.
