Description

This one-day workshop introduces the framework for conducting conversations that lead to client behavioral change and increased self-efficacy.  To address the effects of scarcity and other barriers that clients face, participants will learn how to respond to client ambivalence using various coaching interventions relating to the stages of change.

This workshop also covers an exploration of executive skills, which is the ability to organize, plan, control reactions, and get things done. These skills play an important role in clients’ success in setting and achieving goals and the ability to exit poverty.   Participants will learn to identify 'work-arounds' that reduce the impact of weak executive skills and increase client momentum towards desired outcomes.

After this training, participants will feel more confident in using “coaching moments” as a viable intervention to help clients to establish goals and gain momentum towards greater self-sufficiency.

Content topics include:
• The Coaching Mindset

• Gain competencies on how to use various coaching tools to aid coaching conversations for the purpose of enhancing the client’s ability to follow through and take actions
• Know how to use and leverage existing strengths, qualities, experiences and values to enhance the coaching relationship
