The CWRA Ontario Branch is hosting a three-day training course on Two-Dimensional Modelling using HEC-RAS at Black Creek Pioneer Village. The training course will be provided by Dr. Ray Walton of WEST Consultants, Inc.
Participants will gain intensive experience constructing two-dimensional HEC-RAS models from scratch. This hands-on experience also highlights methods in which the one-dimensional components of HEC-RAS can be connected to two-dimensional meshes. Lectures on 2D flow theory, an introduction to the new capabilities and features of HEC-RAS, and procedures for creating a stable and calibrated 2D model will be covered. Workshops focus on giving students experience with building and pre-processing the computational mesh, performing offline and inline 2D projects, and using the built-in feature RAS Mapper to spatially analyze results.
Please note that space is limited and registration will be on a first come basis. Should registration be filled, a list of interested individuals and organizations may be created for a future training session.
Attendees will be required to bring a laptop to the workshop, with HEC-RAS installed (version 5.0.3, or better). All course reference material will be provided.
Registration fees are $1650 for CWRA members, and $1800 for non-members.
Fees also include lunch, mid-morning and mid-afternoon snacks.
