Please join us for the 2018 BASC Symposium, held on February 1-2, 2018 at McCone Hall and the David Brower Center in Berkeley. The event kicks off with a seminar that is open to the public, and co-hosted with the Department of Earth and Planetary Science, on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at 4pm at 141 McCone Hall. Ben Santer of the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory will give the opening talk. The symposium continues all-day on February 2, 2018 at the David Brower Center. Registration is required for the second day of the symposium.
The goal of the BASC Symposium is to foster interaction among the community of atmospheric-science researchers and students from UC Berkeley and surrounding institutions. We invite participants from around the San Francisco Bay Area including (but not limited to) UC Berkeley, UC Davis, UC Santa Cruz, Stanford, San Francisco State University, San Jose State University, NASA-AMES, Lawrence Berkeley National Lab, Lawrence Livermore National Lab, SRI, USGS, Bay Area Air Quality Management District, US Environmental Protection Agency and the California Air Resources Board. We encourage students and postdocs to participate and present posters.
Our invited speakers this year include Benjamin Santer (Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory), Alastair Lewis (York University), Kimberly Prather (UC San Diego), James Randerson (UC Irvine), and Gabriel Vecchi (Princeton).
